Cables on the rear should be a nono on Epic. and all the connectors should have a "bump protective" design, and not stand directly out of the body. That would allow for much more compact setups.

I think that RED will follow the same path this time around... paying attention to feedback from the folks that will buy and use the products to make the camera the best possible solution. The benefit is that this time around, not only do they have camera building experience... but we all have camera "building" experience as well! Those of us who followed the development of the RED closely and work with the camera every day now have a very strong grasp on how the camera works in the real world. What may have been difficult to tell from a rendering of the RED ONE in the past is now a reality. We have to admit that we're all shooting blind here anyway... We have no idea what RED is cooking up for accessories or even if this is the ultimate design for EPIC. Look how much the design for the RED One changed in the year leading up to its release.
The good news is that I'm sure RED has learned from the experience. If they listened on the BNCs and XLRs for the Epic, they're bound to listen to the rest of the feedback in the same manner. This time around we don't have to wait for the camera to come out to find out if we were right or wrong with our recommendations... because we can garner so much from the design of the RED ONE....And look how many aspects of it remained un-changed, even at the behest of many reservation holders (like the mini BNC and XLR connectors, no audio pots, etc..).
The benefit is that this time around, not only do they have camera experience...
heh heh heh. please tell me you meant to add a "building" infront of camera there Brook.. its pretty offensive to Jim if you meant what it was written like.
Regardless.. yes we do listen, and the feedback, as long as it doesn't turn to yelling, is always welcome.
