I've been using the IPP2 transform LUTs for a while now, but ever since the latest update for Premiere was released I've been getting this weird banding on my shots when I try to process them. It's as if it's over processing the image. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, it fully has me stumped.

Lucas,

I think those are the older luts and they might not be optimized for the latest Premiere updates. Here are some newer ones I made with "IPP2 Lut Creator" inside Redcine-X Pro Build 50.1.44491 the last version. They use a gamma 2.2 , the same gamma setting I use in Davinci Resolve, and are 33x33x33 cube luts which are, I believe, the same cube size that resolve exports out.

I'm curious to know what your workflow is for processing IPP2 in Premiere because to my knowledge it's not officially supported yet, at least according to this link from Nov 2017: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2404917

That said, doing a full uninstall/reinstall has fixed Premiere issues for me in the past.

Rand,
Thanks for the info. I have tried the latest release transform LUTs from the RED website and my IPP2 works fine in RED CineX. I'll give yours a go and see what happens.

Refah,
My workflow is simply convert all of my clips to RWG/3g10 and then apply the appropriate transform LUT ie. Medium contrast, soft roll-off.

Lucas,

Hopefully they may help, but it could be, as Refah stated, that IPP2 may "Still" not be "fully" supported yet in Premiere. It's not fully supported in Davinci Resolve "As Red intended the IPP2 workflow to operate".

You need to wait for the updated version of Premiere Pro which supports IPP2 and mainly Tetrahedral LUT interpolation. At the moment, it's trilinear "only" via Lumetri. You can use the Apply LUT Effect in After Effects however if you want to go that route.

This is a problem with your render settings. I know for sure that this happens when you set your machine to use Metal for rendering. Might happen with CUDA too, but I wouldn't know.

Trilinear, which Premiere uses, is lower quality than the LUT interpolation in camera and in REDCine-X, which both use Tetrahedral. Please check how your image look in REDCine-X Pro.

Same banding. I think this is a Premiere issue. I've used these IPP2 LUTs on 50+ projects and had no issues, now all of a sudden, BAM.

Probably a bit too much of a workaround for me at the moment. Can't wait for IPP2 to be supported natively in Premiere.

I'm rendering using OpenCL. Have tried Metal too, same results.

Any update on when this may take place?
