  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Well I think it's off the back of people like me who owned the r2 version (I've owned a few other bits of Shoot35 kit too) and loved it for what it was. Wayne's stuff is very good quality. Not 'very good quality for the price' but simply very good quality.

The designs and features on this address everything people would want to have improved from the r2 version, and the price is very reasonable. The unit might disintegrate in my hand the moment I take delivery of it, but so far Wayne and Shoot35 are a company I have faith in so I imagine it will be of a similar or better quality. And as for support ages ago they even got an additional custom larger gear made for me and my r2 follow focus so I could use it on a larger variety of lenses.

Also for a Brit like me it's nice for once to support a local designer/manufacturer :)

Red and blacks I like - But the Bright Tangerine Orange color is so off putting I honestly, truly AVOID buying their gear. I know I`m not alone in that. I just cant bear to hit the camera with that sort of ugly. If they sold options to swap out orange parts for black I`d buy from them.

Thanks for the update Wayne. Just to gauge supply, do you know approximately how many units will go on sale before it becomes "out of stock"?
 
What's the price for upgrading from single sided to dual sided after the fact? Is there much savings in getting dual vs. single right out of the gate?

Have you ever considered a 15mm/60mm spacing to 15mm studio spacing adapter? 15mm studio is very popular here in Toronto Canada as well as LA.

Q5: Can I upgrade from the Single Sided version to the Doubled Sided version at a later date?

Tom, we have enough units for the anticipated demand. We will not be 'out of stocking' this like previous products, instead, the indicated lead time will go up if needed.
 
Ill be there to get mine hopefully. And i noticed that it said that the dual sided will ship with one side only and second wheel will come 4-6 weeks later? is this true?
 
Hi Domenic,

Yes, thats right. We were not 100% happy with the Dual Sided interface connection point, so this part of the Dual Sided addon is being re-machined.

Everything on the main unit is fine, though.
 
any guess on what the final price is on getting a unit to the US? with customs and such? 550 bucks US is great plus shipping sounds real tempting but if the customs is pricey, id like to know.
