  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Introducing the OConnor CFF-1

We received a lot more orders than OConnor could fulfill in the first shipment. Don't worry, they are ramping up production based on the high demand, and OConnor is the scale of company that can make this happen (it's good to be a part of the Vitec Group).

Yes, when the units come in we allocate them based on the order of deposit and then contact you to arrange payment and confirm shipping information.

I can't wait to receive mine, i was hoping Abel Cine would have them last Friday but apparently only 3 turned up. i've been told i might get mine next week. It's a shame i'm having to hire in an ff4 for Friday and Tuesday and am working with anamorphic lenses, working with these would be easier with a CFF-1.

Glad I ordered within a few hours of the announcement! :yesnod:

Looks like a beautiful piece, looking forward to running it through its paces.

If any you guys are not happy with the CFF-1, let me know. I have an almost new Arri FF4 that I'd be willing to trade. :)

Dont think you'll find any takers Jeff, this is one sweet set-up. Ours arrived today and as Curran showed, it includes a very nice laser cut high density foam which fits a Pelican 1450 perfectly.

The Pelican 1450 and the Storm 2200 are the same size.

Never hurts to ask. I played with the CFF-1 a bunch at NAB and I love it. It fixes so many of the little issues I have with the FF-4 and it's a lot more versatile.

Did you guys get your rightside knob? Mine said it was ready to ship but without the Rightside knob as those are backordered. Being in Canada, better to order it all at once. I hate duties/taxes/brokerage charges...you guys in the US never experience the headache!

Norm

We are still awaiting the additional knobs.

Ah. That makes sense. Pelican owns Storm cases now?

Which one do people prefer?

Pelican now owns Hardigg, which owns Storm. I personally prefer the Storm design cases, particularly for their very comfortable latch design.

Yes, they bought them last year. Personally, I prefer my Storm cases to my Pelican cases, mainly because of the latches. Storms are much easier to open and don't rip one's fingernails off like the Pelicans can. YMMV.

I know this has been covered but wanted to ask once more - is there a way to get the CFF-1 to reverse for Zeiss ZFs? I'm about to order the Duclos reversing gear but wanted to make sure since the CFF-1 seems to adapt to any situation I thought there may be a way.

Thanks!

Jim

I believe Jim Elias mentioned they were looking at making a reversing gear as they'd had enquiries. No idea when or if this will be available to buy any time soon though.
