  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Introducing the OConnor CFF-1

Thanks for the compliments guys. This is a product that really sells itself with brilliant engineering and functionality. I just pointed out what it did and it was pretty clear to see in a video.

We'll have some preproduction units at the NAB booth, along with lots of other great toys. nice, nice stuff!

Does the foam insert for the 2200 case included in the CFF-1 kit have cut outs for the Arri 13.5" follow focus whip w. knob that is in the Abel Cine related products section.
Also does the CFF-1 Still have the Wooden Handwheels.

As long as the whip portion is 14.5" (37cm) or shorter and the handwheel portion is Ø3"x1" (Ø80mm x 25mm) or smaller you'll be fine. Best to have this measured for you.

Most people who tried the prototypes expressed an aesthetic preference for black handwheels and also wanted a grippier surface, "a bit softer" if possible... so we went with the overmolding that has been tried-and-true with the traditional head drag knobs. We'll be revisiting the wooden handwheels as an option if there is demand. (Wood also requires more TLC and won't survive impacts as well as the current design.)

Its a shame that the CFF-1 no longer has wooden hand wheels, i really liked how they looked ( a bit like the hand grip on an Aaton ) however what you said Jim does make a lot of sense.

I'm about to buy from Abel cine now as this is the best follow focus i have ever seen, it will fit my 18-85mm Red Pro Zoom and look great with my O'Connor 2575D.

Here is the first CFF-1 just off the production line in England! We are hoping to ship the first batch to our dealers early next week….

As part of our initial sales promotion on the OConnor CFF-1, Abel decided to offer a 5% discount on the basic kit. This offer was scheduled to end tomorrow, the end of April. Due to the overwhelming response as well as the slight delay in delivery as OConnor made sure they got it just perfect, we have decided to extend the discount for two more weeks, until Saturday, May 15. This is a very nice follow focus and a great deal.

I believe they are shipping to us, which means they will soon be shipping to you. They are coming to us internationally, which means there could be delays due to customs imports.

Soon, soon ...

Yeah, Brittany said it will go out tomorrow. Been waiting for a "real" FF for a while now, going to be a nice change! :drool5:

Will take a couple of days to get to Australia, but Fed Ex is pretty good around here.

I'll post photos soon as.

Jim
