  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Introducing Epic-W 8K

Way to go! Congrats on that! Can't wait to see what the mighty Epic-W is capable of :)

I am waiting for tomorrow to try and get an estimate when my Weapon Helium upgrade becomes available :)

Thanks Andrei. As you and I have discussed, I have some Mighty things in store for this camera. Thankful to have it.

Nice! Is your rep Kevin Solomon? I emailed him as well, so just waiting on confirmation.

Also - as a new, first-time RED owner (soon!), it's been great reading all of your posts here on RedUser - super helpful. Excited to be part of the crew!

Kevin is the man! You're in good hands.

Not on mine. At 24FPS and FF, 9:1 or above is the only option.

Does say 8K 6:1 at 24fps in the specs but could that be because of the ProRes selection?

2 questions

1. Do we know the base ISO for the epic-w

2. When I shoot slow motion in 6k, 4K, 3k etc does the image crop into the sensor? Or do my lenses see their true focal length.

Does anyone know if the epic w or the s35 helium are upgradable to vv?

In the store it says they are not compatible with 8k lens mounts.

Good catch, changing to read "not compatible with 8K VV lens mounts"....

Only WEAPON cameras can move to VV.

1. Do we know the base ISO for the epic-w...

Not yet.

2. When I shoot slow motion in 6k, 4K, 3k etc does the image crop into the sensor? Or do my lenses see their true focal length...

They're Cropped.
