  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Incredible...

It's like the quiet before the storm...

The last 2 weeks felt like that. Since Amsterdam all's getting quiet. (Apart from the new render images.) They are really busy, I reckon...

Suits me, I got an exam marathon ahead of me... just got my timetable for the revision courses... :scared: not much sleep until summer 2010...

Can't wait for the release schedule. As a wildlife filmmaker it's difficult to find a camera that fits all of my requirements, and I hope that the Scarlet will be that camera. I'm not expecting it for a while, but at least that gives me time to save up right? But however long I have to wait, this is all really exciting stuff!

Red Gunner looks like a way to control focus and exposure in much the same way as one would cradle the lens in their hand while shooting with an SLR - perhaps with motors?

As for the connections... a liquid cooling system for the brain?

Maybe its time for a new render...

Guys stop distracting the red team! You know how easily they get distracted with your posts... :)

Let them finish our beloved Scarlets and Epics!

Oh the Redmanity....

I'm exactly one month away from a purchasing decision. I sincerely hope the Scarlet will be ready by then, but I won't hold my breath. Sony just discontinued its EX1 camera, so maybe we are in for a surprise soon from them. I~m definitely considering a 7D, even with all its issues. I need to up my game for this year's Macau Grand Prix...

I hope this does not affect the resale price of the EX1. I was going to sell mine end of this month and put the money in my "whatever RED brings out next" account.

I don't think so. Its a good camera and its value seems to hold up well on the used market. Like the HVX200, its a camera that should keep its value for a couple of years, still

I Don´t think the red team will keep the same prices as before, if they removed it, look´s like they have planes to increase it ! I hope not !

EX1's are still good cameras and will be for some time. Our kids use hvx's and ex1's for their shorts. We have two REDs on order now from Silverado Systems (Torrey's company) till then we use REDs for our fun stuff and professional level stuff.

One simply request can the team make sure this time that the batteries & camera have CE & C tick approval we had terrible issues with batteries & compliance on Red One and many shows now have Health & Safety officers that check these things as do major broadcasters. While on compliance the batteries will need to meet civil aviation rules if they are Lithium Ion or Lithium Polymer etc including a maximum content,

Thanks

You cant be serious about the 7D? Have you shot with it and seen projected results?

I am fairly certain that these new batteries (at least the smaller ones) were designed specifically to meet these restrictions.
