  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

This makes be think that the red gunner will be some sort of sonic or infrared system to interface with the brain.

Or that that is a mic below the lens
 
Or.. It's a trick and we are all wrong. I wouldn't put it past Jim and his crew to mess with our heads on this one (red gunner).
 
I for one am hoping for the same price or slightly lower on certain models ( or even on accessories ). I am hoping that with the Scarlet ( especially the 2/3's fixed and non-fixed ) hopefully selling alot more units then the RED One has, we may see an economy of scale that RED has not had previously. This new economy of scale I am hoping can usher in some price reductions due to volume. I am not being unrealistic, just hopeful. I for one would really like to be able to get a Scarlet S35 with enough to shoot with ( Nikkon Lenses already owned ) for somewhere between $12,000 and $15,000. I know this wouldn't include everything I would want, but at least enough to shoot with, and improving the kit as time progressed.

I for one would LOVE to buy RED over RedRock Micro for my Mattebox and Follow Focus, but that will only happen if the price is right, at least for me.
 
Sorry if this has been answered but I've flipped through and I didn't see an official answer:

-Can you record consecutively to all three CF slots? That is, once the side CF Module fills up, will it auto swap to the dual CF Module (recording to one side then the other?) I'm pretty sure it has been confirmed that the dual module can do this, so I am curious if you can actually implement all three - effectively giving 48gb of space with 3 16gb cards.

Saw the M-x quotes too, exciting times.

Jim, you have friends all over the place. :-) We were doing a shoot for a local hospital here in Raleigh, NC and shooting a young female manager of a fitness center named Summer Phinneas (sp). We were trying to impress her with our very cool camera when she said, "Oh my Uncle is good friends with Jim Jannard." Stopped us in our tracks. Pretty funny moment, but apparently you are friends with her family from Long Beach.

So...small world. Actually a very big world with a lot of coincidences.

Looking forward to the Oct announcements.

A few years back I was in an elevator at the Hilton in Vegas during NAB and I commented to my co-worker that I had an appointment with Jim Jannard in the morning (the old "eating the hat cake" story for those that may remember). Without missing a beat a very fashionably dressed young lady who obviously had nothing to do with our industry spun around and asked, "Oakley is here?" When worlds collide...

Not sure if it rings a bell, Jim, but she said her aunt is a ghost writer for some novels and knew you, as well. It was a pretty funny moment. She said, "yeah, he sent my aunt some camera thing in a big box, but I don't know what it was." We were laughing at that one.
 
Jannard! Being drawn and quartered is way worse then
being last in line to buy a camera. I like your original
option better. Now we can sweep this whole nasty episode
under the carpet if you would please put me toward the front
of the line for a scarlet. I just got a $20,000 bonus and
am ready to go. Am I talking your language now?
 
oh well, hopefully I get some funding soon and will become one of those "Jim I dont care what you charge, I'll throw 3 of everything on my AmEx!!" :-)
