  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

In case of thermonuclear war

is there something you know?

is there something you know?

In case of thermonuclear war, would the electromagnetic impulse damage my red one compact flash cards? XD

yes it would. :rip_1:
now about this war thing...
is there something you know that the rest of us don't? :nuke:

Perhaps Oakley could come out with a line of CF cards that offer "thermonuclear protection." :innocent:

I would recommend converting an old badger set as a storage bunker, preferably in a valley, but make sure its not in a flood zone though. Leave metal items outside. Line the inside with clay. Cover entrance with baulder. hope that helps

Someone has just a little too much time on their hands... :-)

I'de make a documentary about nuclear weapons to prevent such an event...
But still... Red could make a Red Anti Nuclear war sheet to hide n cover under in case it would happen.

The times they are a changin' …

In the fifties a briefcase would have sufficed for "duck and cover" .

I just heard some rumors about build 16. Redteam tested a fix for black sun issue. After getting it work with sun, they wanted to be really sure and went to Moruroa. Red one meets nuclear explosion. A few thermonuclearexplosion later, Jim told that they are very sorry to announce that even build 16 is slightly clipping when you shoot right into explosion centre.
So be carefull macgregor, no problem at all with data, since build 16. But mind this black nuclearsun isue, they couldn´t fix it...

I'm glad this subject has been brought up on here... because.. and I don't want to cause a panic with this... but the world domination wing of my company is currently enriching as quickly as it can... so as a red user myself... I would also like to keep my cf cards safe from... the inevitable.

Your fine, just upgrade to the new badging on the camera:

He's back??? Where?

This is my N: 1000 post here. YuPeeYup :).

I officially congratulate myself for successfully posting too much on REDUser.

Well done, Karapetkov :sarcasm: .

And I'm so happy that my millennium post is about my good friend Jesus...

He's here with me...

He came back a week ago and is now also peeping at the REDUser forum on the computer next to me.

He says that he's a little worried about that Jannard dude, who seems to try and compete with Him with his miraculous cameras.

He sends his regards to all REDUsers.

The Force is with us.

Love and Peace.

Probably not, if they aren't plugged into anything that can act as an antenna. However, the Gamma and X-Rays would possibly erase or at least corrupt the contents of the flash memory.

In any case it would be some time, if ever, before you would be able to use them. But cheer up, if the cards were dead, you probably would be too:biggrin:

It really depends at what altitude the warhead is detonated at..

If the warhead is strategically detonated at a high altitude (say on an airliner) the nuclear blast will use the curvature of the earths atmosphere as a reflective concave lens, concentrating gamma rays back to earth over a wide geographical area, cooking many electronics. A ground detonation however, may not yield the same effect because of terrain disruption. Gamma rays, kind of like radio waves, need to be emitted from a high point to have far reaching effectiveness.
