  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I'd bet money

Why are you bringing in a press release from 2006? I've seen that camera - it was kind of cool in its day - 4 years ago.

This one is more recent... :)

Yeah, apples to oranges man.

Besides, unless you know something I don't. last time I checked RED was NOT developing any kind of 3D camera. 2 epic/scarlets together doesn't count BTW...

I've shot with the 3DVX alot actually. For it's size and output (4:4:4 HD raw), it's pretty awesome really. Especially when you ralize he dit it over 4 years ago.

Jason did a great job developing that camera and Panasonic even stole his "optical axial offset" feature for their new 3D camera.

Even today the 3DVX remains one of the few, purpose built, self contained 3D cameras with on board SS recording with raw HD resolution.

Would be awesome if RED gave Jason 2 scarlets and let him tear them apart and make them a true RED 3D camera!

That said I'm sure Jason isn't sitting on his hands these days......

Me shooting with the 3DVX,

Is it a parallel stereo camera?

Yes Jason is busy and I wouldn't use the word "stole" for how Panasonic is using his design ideas.
