I saw a blurry photograph of the Wireless Receiver RED WMD at IBC. Anybody have more information or photographs of this thing? Was there a new hand controller there?

I've seen a previous iteration of this thing, but the new one does indeed look different.

Phil,

It's the wireless controller FIZ that ET helped develop. All I know is that it's a lot lighter than Preston

Oh I know what it is. I just haven't seen it out in the wild and would love to know more.

Oh that would be awesome!

Another wireless FF option.

Yeah... they had the WMD module and the RED motors.. not in working order on friday at least because they were missing some cables.. they had a RED branded handunit with it (hanging around the pedestal of the dragon). If i'm at the booth today and it's still there; I'll try to get a better picture

best,
Joost

RED branded handunit with it

Thanks Joost. That's exactly what I'd like to see. Also the WMD Module looked like it had some more "things" on it, a close shot of that would be lovely.

saw this on besteady's facebook page, the photo of it is small

I got an iphone picture of it. It worked wired and wireless. Pretty small package. Was mounted to the cage on the right side. Nice thing with the motors, the wireless remote FF (which is a great piece, too)

Check your Facebook account, phil

Thank you. It certainly looks very interesting and different. Hopefully I'll take a look at it when there's one back here in LA.

Played with them.

They are really great.

Buildquality is very good, but I think it is still in development.

But the feel was solifd and precise.

Tons of cool programmable features. Noiseless. Fast. Precise. Good feel. And powered by Sony handycam batteries... :-)

Cool stuff all over.

Played with the Handunit a while back. Pretty awesome but zooming with that second wheel was unfamiliar.
Hope to see more of it soon.

I was told that could be remapped to the slider, and that you could use several units in sync.

I will when I get all the pictures back home. :) hang in there.

Played with the unit today at IBC and I can only second Gunleik's observations. Very solid, precise, great build quality. I was also quite impressed by the lens motors which are compact and extremely silent yet feel powerful. A nice surprise to see this system at IBC.

Here are some bigger photos for you guys. Beautiful ergonomics, great build quality and highly responsive.
