  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I love...

If RED made cheap and safe cancer vaccines which simply worked, it would be dismissed as too good to be true; it would be accused of mocking the hard work of oncologists and their suffering patients; chemotherapy advocates would say that it is better than RED's solution because chemo has no fan-boys and it forces the patient to focus on their mortality rather than indulging in being healed; and finally, users of this self-administered vaccine would be accused by oncologists of being reckless with their health because no professional consultation is required.

I love everything that I see Red doing.

This makes me feel like an old fart and it may not be my place to say this but I may have been critical in the past so I owe Jarred some credit. In the last 18 months or so I have seen significant changes in the way he interfaces with the public. He is clearly working on his PR skills and the effort is showing. Bravo sir, well done. This crowd is tough, and you are handling the challenge in fine fashion.

Thanks to all RED family... form the 6 original warriors from the multitude of adopters, lovers, users and/or adicts like me....

WE ARE ALL FAMILY AFTER ALL...

KEEP ON ROCKING....

I love that the other camera producers are all needing to watch Red's every move, and tighten they're game. For decades we have been at the mercy of whatever they wanted to offer up, and possibly in cahootz in some arena's to not get too far ahead too fast.

So let see the upcoming, i really cant stand to see what sort of look you guys ganna give us with your new sensor please work on the look thats the main thing we need for now .

I'm getting old. I hate it. I am a 20 year old in a 63 year old body. The only consolation I have is that we have made a difference and we are just getting started. I take solace in the fact that RED matters. Love us or hate us... we have made a difference.

Jim
Jim, I can so relate to this...but because of you, Jarred and RED, each day brings me new excitement, opportunities and challenges! We are all like sharks...we have to keep moving forward or we die...RED provides a much needed stimulus to my aging brain cells every single day...

We have exactly three cars and one camera. As it happens, all of them are red.

:-)

It upsets me when called a fanatic for loving this stuff without owning the camera. Its so much fun watching you guys help people with unique dreams at the highest level rather than conform to the norm. My food & wine…Oh and Sodastream to any crazy reduser/dreamer that comes to my island.
Not really, I know what you mean, I'm a real fanboy of the WPT and all the gossip without being much of a player.

I love these threads. I can't put my finger on why, but I do.

It's my birthday. I woke up today, turned on my phone, and saw this thread. I'm embarking on some significant changes in my life; partly because of what RED has enabled me to do, partly because of what RED has inspired me to do, and partly because it's just time to DO.

So, a sincere Thank You for the added inspiration on a day that just happens to mean something to me.

... I'm getting old. I hate it. I am a 20 year old in a 63 year old body. The only consolation I have is that we have made a difference and we are just getting started. ... Now... I have to tell you that what we have done in the past pales in comparison to what we are working on for the future... :-)Jim

Jim: Continue to live your dream ... and you will never grow old! You and I are about the same age ... and, thanks to you and your talented team ... the future sure looks exciting. Thanks.

You mentioned in another threat that you thought perhaps we didn't get the magnitude of the new Dragon sensor. We get it, it's just a lot to wrap your head around. To have such powerful tools at such a low price point is mind boggling. I have always made movies with what ever technology I could get my hands on, but soon I will have a camera that is better than the gold standard for the last 100 years. You still need great stories to make great movies, but it is nice to be able to make them without compromises.

As far as the other new technologies you guys are coming out with that will make our current offerings pale in comparison, I guess I lack the imagination to think what the hell they could be. You guys always say, "be patient." Yeah, right. I pretty sure at least 95% of film makers are ADSD. We have many strengths, patience isn't one of them!

Jim,

63 is just a number when you feel like 20.

Resting on laurels is a sign of age. Continual dreams of what can be and innovation to bring them to reality are signs of youth.

I'm very lucky to say that my dad will be 88 in a couple of weeks. Still active, still sharp.
That's 25 on top of your 63.

Given that measure, you may just keep on breaking the ceilings for a couple more decades.
Bravo!
