  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I got the email confirmation!!!

The brain comes off the production line with the mount and side SSD on it - then it gets popped into a box after extensive OQC. We do not offer brain less mount and/or side SSD. So, at this time, not an option to take delivery less mount.

Oh well, I'm as far to the front of the queue as I could manage without airfare to CA :)
 
Somehow waiting is also part of the RED experience... we waited for RED One delivery, we waited for the Epic (many still are), and now even a bigger crowd of people are waiting for their Scarlet like crazy...

it creates a lot of anticipation and somehow makes every delivered RED camera unique... and every RED owner had to go thru this "waiting exercise", sharpening their zen attitude.

and no matter how much you waited in frustration or how much you idealized the camera before it has been delivered you won't regret any waited minute when you'll see the quality of both the camera itself and the image it produces !

... and as you will be addicted to the wait you'll come back again on reduser, to wait for the next announcement, the REDProjector, a new firmware feature or upcoming accessory...
I'm quietly waiting at the moment for my assault plate, REDmote, side handle and tactical... hoping every day my rep will send me the magic email... hehehe

When RED will have everything in stock (one can always dream) what will we be waiting for ?
hopefully Jim and co will never stop creating new stuff so they will never get out of backorder so everyone can enjoy and chill out during the big REDwait

In a way a much more interesting experience than buying a camera from a local dealer who has hundreds of boxes of a product due to expire in a few months...

Brent, I'm not asking about any concrete dates, but is there a chance that those ordered Ti Canon Scarlets will see them in 2011?

BTW, I had a separate Canon Ti mount available for allocation almost 2 weeks ago, it was passed to the shipping team but still no FedEx letter. Should I be concerned?
 
Demetri, have your rep look into the stand-alone Canon mount order for you....

It was about 50 dollars extra for the overnight.

I hope you get your email soon! It is a great feeling.

Nice! Well I got about another hour than I have to slide out. I'm curious about the Sidehandle as well. Although my VF IDX plate showed up so that will atleast allow me to shoot. I don't think I've refreshed my email so much.

I looked in my open orders, and the side handle is there.

I ordered it as a package.

Could this be in a RED team only sticky? It'd be SOOOO good for my general well-being. ;))
 
What does "Allocated" mean exactly? Built? Shipped?

That took two weeks. Does that mean if PL/Aluminum ratios were the same for Event attendees or production only sped up to wipe out the difference we won't see web orders going out for 2 weeks?
 
from what I can tell they just got through PL orders and starting on the "300"

They opened a new lane around the 23rd then Thanks Giving put a hug buffer. To my calculations I'd say if your in the 50900-52000 its bound to ship some time late next week to possibly Mon(12)-Wed(14). Again thats my head at work but it could be relevant.
