  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Thanks, Pat. But that's a pretty weak caveat. There are a LOT of very capable filmmakers just as ready as those shooting block busters who are ready to risk loosing some shots for the Epic. I'd say few of us want to have a machine that purrs as much as we long for a machine that grows and moves our footage to the next level.

I am sure this has been pointed out already, but... $1,000 x700 = $700,000. Not 7 million.

I understand you are angry, but please make sure you multiply correctly next time.

I think he meant PESOS.....as in 7millllllioon Pesos.
 
Yes, 700 cameras goes beyond a normal beta testing program and it requires a lot of "scarce" parts. I can completely understand why some people are very pissed off.
On the other hand, Red is a business and they need to make a profit in order to stay in business. There is a symbiotic relationship between Red and Red owners. Red have developed some incredible technology with the Epic and we have to accept that this new technology is subject to the laws of supply and demand. I think that we all have a vested interest in seeing them make back their investment.

It started off as a BETA program.. don't forget that.
