Im extremely excited for more update, wife gave the go ahead on Raven kit at apple but its beyond overkill for my product videos. Been happy with BMP pocket cam but really want 4k for crop factor. Hurry up and give us more specs before I buy something else LOL

I would hope for product release in 6 days time, but we are just going to have e to wait. The real kicker is the multipoint is apparently somewhere in the future rather than now. That is a real kicker, we could have a multipoint replacement fur the Pocket by then, and as of now, I know little detail of even the phone. :frown:

Oh, but we are talking about something that can be done by a $30 component as used in iPhones etc, no grevious R&D involved like a helium weapon does. Good to hear they actually are using those weapons for non youtube proper productions too (there is a follow up video somewhere). The Next video might get, "we spent how much on these cameras when this new multipoint hydrogen we just bought would have been good enough!!" :smiley:

Yeah, the follow up video is by his cameraman who also does some other filming and was a bit more sympathetic to the value of the setup. It's still a hilarious video though and I can definitely see both sides. There is some amazing tech in red equipment, but there's also a hell of a lot of margin XD

Basically, you can make a multipoint $400 cinematic phone if you want to kick-start it. $400, and I don't care if it is 720p multipoint with a great sensor, that is still doable film production. I do a lot of contemplating behind the scenes, including how to make a normal phone into a multipoint phone. It is literally cheap, once you sacrifice resolution. But I'm supporting Red's effort, they're on their feet, but I get the sneaking suspicion that things are not going to turn out how I would like. You notice I haven't booked one yet, something is tingling my internal sense. If it is going to turn out $3k for the phone with multipoint module in override a years time, what's the point, I would rather a dedicated camera instead for the price. I hope it is a real leap forwards for the industry, but where ever it is right for me is another thing (hint, I look after cameras better than phones).
