And really, don't try this at home or literally anywhere.
Never really understood why some youtubers use high-end cinema camera's.
I have lots of thoughts and theories on the subject, but just a couple fun thoughts.
- Keep in mind some popular YouTubers are pulling 6 to 7 figures, and occasionally even more with other endorsements or endeavors
- YouTube has repeatedly been the first to support higher resolution streaming dating back to 1080p, 4K, and 8K. They actually currently support up to 16K, useful for 360 video for sure.
- In the world of delivery (and even to an extent, capture) additional resolution helps with some of the downsides of digital exhibition.
- The race to produce higher quality content in the face of growing competition on the same platform has led to much of what is now.
- In some ways a few of these streamers are pulling potentially higher operating budgets than even some television shows, though not necessarily seen in their content.
- I've personally seen a bit behind the curtain of a few popular streamers and they typically are investing in some pretty serious hardware, sometimes even putting smaller studios to shame.
Not a reason to buy a high end cinema camera.
You shoot for your audience, 90%+ is watching his video's on smartphones.
Most watch it on a smartphone.
Don't know about others using 8k camera's for youtube, but the focus pullers at Linus should go back to Filmschool or use something with a good autofocus.
Still no reason to use a camera you can't handle.
Nothing wrong in investing in nice gear, lost of the youtubers should also invest in how to use their nice gear(Linus in this case).
It's good that tech heads like Linus use top quality camera's it's just a pitty that they don't know how to use them.
I'll be routing for Linus and co to get this thing put back together, but even taking it apart wrong could influence if the camera would post on boot.
And to the notion of using a AIO water cooler-style solution, there's about a bazillion reasons not to use water to cool components inside a camera that not only gets beat around a fair amount, but are used is a massive variety of weather conditions.
