Guys,
Trying to write something that indexes a lot of Epic files, just need the name, resolution and framerate.
For Red1, the header is pretty well documented on Wikipedia, but Epic seems different.
(From what i see, it's big endian...)
I can find the resolution, but have no clue where to find the shooting FPS.

Anyone got an idea?

thx,
Bouke

REDline -printMeta 1 --i /Volumes/MyDrive/MyFolder/MyFile.R3D

or apply to the RED SDK programme if you want to code it yourself

Why make it hard for yourself by trying to read a binary file directly

Yes, like Nick my advice would be to use REDLine, reading the proprietary R3D file seems a bit overkill to get the framerate and format size !

cheers

Guys,
Thanks, this will work just fine.
(Do note, i'm a developer, not a RED shooter and i did not know of the tools...)

Sure. I know who you are. I am a customer. I use and like several of your tools.

Welcome Bouke !

Generally REDline is very useful for most tasks and offers access to even more metadata info than the RED SDK itself !

But if you plan on decoding R3D frames quickly you should look into the RED Dev program...
