  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

HOT ROD MODULE. Why Weaponizing Epic-W doesn't trickle down frame rate write speeds?

Why is it that moving up the ability of Epic-W to Weapon doesn't speed up every resolutions maximum frame rate?

Only the top two.

Why can a Camera like the RX10 have such high frame rates? Surely Red could exceed that?

Stating again could there not be a HOT ROD MODULE, which like the RED ROCKET attaches to the camera and makes it more powerful, like any card you would put in a computer to speed it up.

Are you referring to a camera that does 120fps at 1080p? Because Epic-W goes to 240fps at that resolution, 4K is 120fps.

You can't have a module that "speeds up" a sensor's maximum readout speed. The top speed at 8K resolution at the moment for Monstro and Helium is 60fps. No module can change that.

Also you are dealing with much less data on the RX10, but that's a whole other topic.

960 fps. Of course it is less data.

You can have cards that "speed up" a computers processing + power. Why not the same for this Computer in a box, with a lens mount.

At 960fps on the Sony you take a MASSIVE hit to resolution. (as the so called "1080" is very heavily upscaled)

480fps is kinda sort of ish "usable" for short little segments for use in low budget social media videos.

But really 240fps is probably the slowest I'd ever go from a practical perspective, at max. And certainly am avoiding 960fps!
