  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I am sure in the final Colour science iteration the proxy will reflect the camera settings or they won't really be proxies ! So I assume the proxies are either Redlog or RedLogFilm ?

I use that output option in Adobe Media Encoder to create dailies it's great for that.

Still can't believe how you can pull shadows out of the Helium footage, even when not working in RAW...

Hi Jarred or Brent,

Any chance us Existing Scarlet-W owners who signed up for the $10K Epic-W upgrade can our allocation soon? I know we're at the back of the bus, but still would be great to get the S-W as I have a series of projects starting on Feb 5th.

On S-W Facebook page, one Existing S-W owner said he signed up for the upgrade on Oct 11th, the day it became available and still has received no word. Thanks for any info.

I'm a Weapon MG and waiting to get allocated for Weapon Helium-I'm not sure they started the MG upgrades yet. I'm sure there's one hell of a long line for upgrades
 
End of Jan only a couple days away. Hope that Graeme and team are on track to give us a final version soon. Can't wait!
 
It's going to be great... right now I'm finding that the colors when recording ProRes are rather a bit drab compared to recording in raw and using the RWG/Log3G10/IPP2 combo.

I filmed a hip hop performance last night, where the venue had those crappy, cheap varicolored LEDs above the stage providing most of the band's light. With the default DragonColor2+RedGamma4 combo the colors were garish and obnoxious looking; once I switched to RWG + Log3G10, the results were VERY natural looking. Impressive result considering the lousy color quality of the cheap LEDs.
 
I just heard from them that Feb would be the date for the rest of the Scarlet W upgrade. I was placed in october 2016

So the look will be saved as metadata even with ProRes or DNxHD recording then? So you'd import the files into your NLE of choice, add the LUT, and be off and running?
