  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hitchcock...

While she was at RED Studios shooting this, did anyone get a photo of Scarlett next to a Scarlet?

If not, there'll be plenty of future opportunities to capture Johansson next to the Scarlet with the Dragon tattoo

Can't wait!

Hopkins looks great.

Hitchcock, starring Anthony Hopkins, Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, and Helen Mirren is being shot on RED Epics at RED Studios Hollywood. Director is Sasha Gervasi and Cinematographer is Jeff Cronenweth.

What a treat!

I know RED has been a part of many productions but something seems special about this one...

Imdb says it was shot on Alexa and the source format is Redcode raw 5k.
Go figure.

Just saw Hitchcock today at the Arclight.
A very enjoyable if somewhat uneven film. Exceptional work by Cronenweth as always. Gorgeous imagery. Stellar performances.
Definitely worth seeing.

Saw Jarred in the lobby with his lovely wife - didn't say hello as he doesn't know me from Adam, but being 7' he tends to stick out of a crowd.

I enjoyed the film. I know some of the criticism has been centered around the focus on the relationship with his wife but i didn't particularly mind this. I don't think this was intended to be a docudrama on Alfred Hitchcock. It's an interpretive piece that I would suspect takes lots of liberties to create a narrative. I've always got the sense that Hitchcock was complex, not easily profiled. If anyone is interested in hearing from the man himself check out these interviews with Truffaut. http://www.hitchcockwiki.com/wiki/I...ois_Tuffaut_(Aug/1962)#French_Radio_Broadcast

As for the look of the movie, I forgot about this thread and actually didn't even think about it as a RED shot movie. There were some moments when I thought it felt digital but I was blaming the digital projection more than anything else. Didn't affect the story one bit.

ha ha you should of said hi!

Great write-up of some behind the scenes of Hitchcock by Mike Seymour and FXGuide. It also includes an in-detph look at the on-set process of the film.
I think RED DITs in particular will enjoy some of the efforts we put in with our on-set workflow and tricks to get the images looking the way they do.

Wow! 70 TBs.

Caught a screening of Hitchcock last night at Dolby Laboratories in Burbank. This is a great place to see a film, if you get the chance. I sat front row and felt as if in the beginning and end of the film, Hitch was looking down and speaking directly to me. Incredible performances by Hopkins and Mirren.

Also, it was surreal watching the sequences shot at RED Studios, as I was just there teaching and shooting with the students of REDucation the week before.

Another feather in RED's cap for an Oscar worthy film.

Congrats all around.
