I'm in need of some help. I cannot connect the Link Adapter to my iPhone (lateset OS), Komodo on 1.7 beta. I'm following the directions from Red Tech and the manual. I started a ticket with Red support. I sent pictures and a Log. They couldn't figure it out. So I sent the Adapter back to B&H and got another. Same results. No IP address shows up in the communications menu. No "Trust this computer" screen. I can confirm my hotspot works because I can connect to other devices. I tried 4 Apple USB to lightning cables. I even bought a new one. I did a factory reset. I tried 2 other iPhones. The manual says it works with 1.5 and later so I really don't want to roll back. Any insight would be grateful.

I had problem with mine back in the day but I don't remember exactly the solution. IIRC manual configuration of the Komodo never worked properly with the link adapter but it worked fine when selecting automatic on the IP assignment page of the Komodo Link menu.

Good Luck

Thanks for the reply. So I'm onto my second Link Adapter and a new Komodo to see if it will work. I get the new Komodo tomorrow so we'll see. I could never get an automatic IP or manual entry of IP, Submask and Gateway data. I never even got the "Trust this computer" message. I also tried Manual IP Agrees in Red Control. Red support suggested me sending in the Brain and Adaptor.

Hello I just tried again here with latest iOS system, latest camera FW (beta) and all works as expected.

Make sure your iPhone has a cellular network able to share its connection using Personal Hotspot (some carrier may not allow this).
Enable Personal Hotspot on phone (allow Others to Join)
Plug USB-C -> Lightning cable in KOMODO LINK adapter and iPhone, you should see the 'Trust this computer ?' alert every time you re-plug.
Make sure the camera IP assignment is set to 'Automatic' in MENU > COMMUNICATION > CONNECTIONS > KOMODO Link Adapter.
The IP you should be getting is 172.20.10.2 once the Trust dialog is accepted. If it shows 169.254.x.x it will not work.
The app will discover the camera immediately, no need to enter Manual IP address or anything.

If you do NOT see the Trust message, please try this on your iPhone (it will reset some privacy settings but not the whole device) :
  1. Go to Settings, then tap General.
  2. Tap Transfer or Reset iPhone (at the bottom)
  3. Tap Reset, then tap Reset Location & Privacy.
Hope this helps...
