  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Help a brother out...

I have some test footage of my boss running up the street, at 75fps I think... It's great, you can really see his Moobs bouncing...

Otherwise nothing fantastic. I think some of the night exteriors we shot for our 48Hours entry was nice, but probably wouldn't stand up to much of the other good stuff around these parts.
I still have some footage I shot in the Bay of Islands on vacation in New Zealand about 25 years ago. Despite it being VHS, it was shot with a JVC KY1900 3-tube camera so the color quality is still very good.

It was the most amazing day with the sun shining and the water so crystal-clear.

I'd love to see that re-shot on something like the RED. That place just photographs itself!

(Milford Sound was pretty spectacular too, but it rained all the time down there so the footage was somewhat gray and miserable) :cold:

Hi Jim. I shot a3 hour drama this spring, see http://www.dfilm.no/bilder fra Honningfellen.html
Unfortunately the text is in Norwegian, but you will understand the pictures. If y like them, I can probably provide material . It is still in the editing room (ProResHD). But it may be possible to conform some of it if y need DPX or R3D. John Chr.

Decode in London have aerials of a Americas cup boat west coast of Ireland.

Helicopter film services have some good aerials of London and Norway.

Hi Ketch,

connect up with Tunisha today here: tunisha@plastercity.com
to get some R3Ds of Garbo over to the studio for review - Thanks!

Regarding putting the reel out for varied use, we try our hardest to maintain very strict quality control on how it is screened (proper projection, proper screen, proper audio) You would be amazed at how much variance in quality there is from venue to venue, and if it's not carefully looked after each time, the footage can not look as intended. It's very frustrating how much handholding is required for good projection - it would be nice if we could get that to a more logical process, but at this point, it's not, it's a very "analog" tweaking process to get proper pix each time.

So when we do screen the material we alway work to be heavily involved, and don't just send it out. However, as many of you know, I work to be as accomodating as possible to show off material is as many places as I can each month.

Will do Ted, thanks.

As far as the screening of the RED Reel, I do understand the concerns of RED, it is imperative that the material been shown at a level of quality to let the viewers appreciate the true high quality of the images them selves.

Nonetheless still I insist in asking ( very Cordially ) that if all possible a RED Reel, a different one, no problem but a Reel of RED Shot material that we can show to our potential customers, as I have already been asked several times here in Vegas about the showing of such of Reel.

At KETCHFRAME STUDIOS I have a 360" HD Grey Infinity Wall Screen with a 7.1 Surround sound, but I already Am arranging to show Garbo at Movie Theaters, such as the Brenden Theater at the Palms, and the Red Rock Theater.

Again I do fully understand and respect the concerns, but please try to give us something that we can use, this is for all of our benefit.

Thanks Ted and I hope you can stop by next time you are in Vegas, an Italian meal will await you:)

ciao

Since we are down to the wire now on getting new footage in for review, if you have really great stuff you want us to potentially use in the reel - you can send R3D's here directly:

PlasterCITY Digital Post
attn: Ted Schilowitz / REDreel
6500 Sunset Blvd.
Hollywood, CA 90028
p: 323.469.9800

(no need to send lots of footage, just the R3D's that you want us to review)

If you want to upload R3D's on an ftp site, an idisk, etc. that's fine as well, just send us an email to let us know when to pull them down.

Thanks

RED will take care of you. head to the RED complaint department or the support website and fill out a ticket. they'll take care of you quick. maybe there was a misunderstanding because of bad spelling...
