  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

HEDGE - DATA TRANSFER SOFTWARE - GROUP BUY

does any find that this works faster than just dragging and dropping on mac? working between a couple gtech raids

steve

I haven't found 1 to 1 transfers to be faster with Hedge, but not noticeably slower either. The real speed savings is in 1 to many transfers, as they are done simultaneously without additional load on the first drive.

I bought a copy, would like the PC License when it's available though. Is that something I need to reach out to you for when it becomes available?

So is the "Your total is US$69.30" at the current 30% off for a 1 year rental? or to own just one seat? This looks really intriguing. Thanks for putting this together.

Oh, I thought it was a personal license "forever," not just a year. Can someone confirm what the cost is for an individual?

EDIT: Yeah, I just looked it up on their website and "rental" was a misnomer. It's normally $99 for the full (individual) software license with no monthly fees.

Wow, lots of questions!

A Hedge license is $99 which is a one-time purchase. No subscriptions.
The 30 day project license is $25 but not included in this group buy since it's already priced pretty rock bottom :)

> s the one seat meant for one computer? I'm just trying to clarify the difference between the personal and company license, as "personal" notes Hedge activates on all my Macs.

A personal license activates all Macs you personally own. It's a single seat, so you may use Hedge on just one Mac at any given time.
A company license activates all Macs a business owns, and allows for multiple seats with a single key. You can add seats at a later time without having to replace the license key.

> If so, what happens if I eventually purchase a new laptop to replace my 2013 one (hoping to by the end of the year) - do I just contact Hedge to update my key?

No need for that, your key already supports multiple activations. Just activate the new Mac. We detest deactivation hassle :)

> Finally, if I do want a company license, do I just put 2 seats on the group buy order?

The minimum for a company license is 3 seats. If you order that amount, we'll reach out to you with a Company License key.

> I would need to run this on Mac and Windows... does the license on offer cater for this?

No, but you can pre-order a separate Windows license at 50% off at the moment (hedgeformac.com/windows). Combined, it will be cheaper than a crossplatform license which will probably be $149.

Those that have both a Mac and Windows seat we'll send a crossplatform license key when we release the Windows version coming September.

> It seems great. Too bad you can't run it on older Mac Os's like 10.8... Shotput Pro can.

Our codebase is simply too modern for those OS versions. They lack too many interface and security options to make an app like Hedge function properly. We tried, but alas...

Hedge is a nice tool.
I even use it on jobs when i do the main copies with silverstack for secondary copies on shuttle drives and stuff like that
