Dear Friends,

I have a very exciting announcement to make, one in which I am very proud to personally present to this great community.
As of today, Light Iron will be expanding to New York and has acquired all the post production facilities and resources of OFFHOLLYWOOD.

I've been close friends with Mark and Aldey at OFFHOLLYWOOD since the first tides of digital cinema started to roll in. Since 2003, Mark and I have been communicating constantly. We were always excited about what each other was doing - realizing that a d-cinema future was brewing out on the fringes - if you were daring enough to hunt for it! At the time, we found refuge in independent filmmakers who were the only ones willing to accept the crazy ideas of using drives instead of decks, computers instead of cameras, Final Cut Pro instead of AVID, FireWire instead of copper, and 4K instead of HD and SD. And while many sneered at the concepts we endorsed, over the years, we've seen many minds change and we've seen RED become the flagship leader in the digital cinema initiative. *Naturally, we both got behind RED back in 2006 and the rest is history.

Nearly a decade since we met, the Light Iron/OFFHOLLYWOOD relationship has finally found the best way to capitalize on what we predict the next 4 years will look like. -And it's looking very bright:-) Light Iron is taking over the OFFHOLLYWOOD post location along with its talent, toolsets, and the 8th floor Soho office. Mark and Aldey will continue to manage the OFFHOLLYWOOD Camera Rentals division, which is located downstairs from Light Iron NY. With this transaction, they will be growing their camera rental and production services divisions significantly. I will personally be moving to New York in 2 weeks where I will continue to act as Light Iron CEO in Manhattan.

I cannot express how grateful I am for the work that OFFHOLLYWOOD has done to help further the digital cinema community as well as my excitement to get to know the good people of New York. Thank you all for your support, recommendations, and most of all, thank you for being willing to keep an open mind when it comes to the complex world we've all helped create for ourselves. This is gonna be fun...

Michael, what an amazing opportunity!!!

Enjoy NYC and I'll look forward to playing creatively together with you sooon.

Having Light Iron and OFFHOLLYWOOD under the same roof in New York City is really significant and this is the most excited I have been about our future roadmap since Aldey Sanchez and I formed the company ten years ago. Totally excited to start spending lots of time with Michael - he and he team have done incredible work. They have some amazing stuff planned for the facility.

I should just say that this would never would have happened if it wasn't for all the hard work of Michael's brother Peter Cioni. I don't think he has slept in a month. Rockstar.

Congrats to both of you. Welcome to NYC Michael!

Big BIG congrats guys, keep up the good work and innovation!
