Video MTL, a HUGE camera rental place (bigger than even exists in most markets, and a buyer of one of the first Reds in 2007 ) has yet to get their e-mail. No mention of upgrades at NAB. No actual person I know of have heard of has gotten their upgrade, and I have not even seen a picture of a Dragonized camera anywhere (I could be mistaken, missing something, just Carbon Dragons. FXPHD, the earliest of early adopters, have not received their e-mail yet.

Rob I think a lot of houses don't want to shell out for Carbons...also you do know a lot of houses don't even own their inventory. For instance I keep my camera at the biggest house in my area, and I'd love to have a Dragon there cuz they literally have zero there still, and if I wanted to I could probably get a bank or the house financing team to loan me the 50k too, but just too scary for me financially I been really slow after losing a long term client unfortunately when they took the production in house only to save on costs. So I figure for the measly 9,500 its not a big deal to wait, and since I switched lines based on the house wanting an Epic I am now basically in back. I don't see any other option really, unless I wanted to throw around carbon money, and i probably could make it back too in time, but without knowing for sure its a tough choice to make. I also happen to need another car too, mines on the way out, so just a tough thing for me to get into right now...

my point is: houses could get carbons if they wanted to, but since most of them try to avoid buying anything as often as possible they just might not want to jump in. theres too many hot new cameras at NAB now for them to feel safe. i heard about a house buying 3 F65's on their own and not getting rentals, that kind a screw up can bankrupt a house fast. there is a reason they are afraid to buy, and its got nothing to do with red even, more so just fear of unknown market conditions...
