  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - TVLogic VFM-055A onboard monitor

You are inncorrect, as is the video.
The only source of this being a "10-bit OLED" panel is the rep verbally saying it in the video.

I don't pretend to be a monitor expert - I'm just going off the specs I was given. Please don't shoot the messenger. Maybe it has something to do with the way the signals are handled before reaching the OLED. I will check in with my contact and verify for you. Nevertheless, when I played with it for a while, I found the color reproduction very good.

Just received an answer from TVLogic on this point:

"it is built with 8-bit OLED panel with 10-bit processor"

I will correct the 1st post to reflect this.

I think there was another post on here about this monitor that didn't give it the best review. Although I am interested because my 058w is my favorite monitor of all time. Do you know how good the focus peaking is on this monitor? And even though this is a 5" I hear a lot of comparisons to that new 7" Ikan monitor that's suppose to be excellent color representation.

I have updated the first thread's video to one with more information.

Do you know how good the focus peaking is on this monitor?

Regarding Focus Assist, the 55A has the same menu functions as the 58W: mode (color, mono), color (red, green, blue) and level (0-100). With the OLED screen, I found the setting a little more pronounced than the 58W, but it is essentially the same quality. How good it is is pretty subjective and I recommend testing a unit if possible.

Im in, +1

Added. Please note that shipping is currently available in domestic USA.

Just spoke with a DP colleague of mine who owns this monitor. He told me:

"The blacks are rich - dynamic range is great - and the thing is a tank - great build like their other monitors - sharpness is wonderful - fast and intuitive. I used to have the 5.6 and sold it - wasn't happy with that. BLOWS THE CRAP out of the SmallHD monitors - those things are useless for on board cam ops or dps operating trying to judge contrast, exposure."

I would like one. I am in NYC and would love to pick up from Abel NYC if possible let me know.

Just tested this monitor, guys please check it out, huge difference between 58, I’m a bit confused, I’m off this gb for now

Could you explain what you mean by this? I was going to grab one based on my experience with the 58.
