  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Follow Focus

I've been told I am not part of the group buy List?
Is this something that has to be setup here?

Thanks for your help!

Does anyone have a clue how this unit could be used in solo operation on a gimbal?
Trying to figure out the logistics of those hand units on a movi pro or similar....

Hey Dave,

They managed to make a ring adapter to attach the wireless handgrips so you can slide them onto the gimbal crossbar. So you're just replacing your gimbal crossbar grips with the nucleus wireless handles grips. The Nucleus wireless handle grips have a really nice finger wheel thats really responsive. I hope this helps.

Does the adapter fit on the ronin ring grip?

Thank you for putting this together, please add my name for one Tilta kit. Thanks.

Yes, they are including (2) gimbal clamps, but I think they are only for the standard gimbal tube size and not the ring size. Let me confirm for you.

GET PAYMENTS IN ASAP!

GET PAYMENTS IN ASAP!

The window to pay for the group buy is now closed, however, they are giving us a few more days to get the final payments in.

If you haven't even contacted Tilta yet to arrange payment, that is no longer available and is past the cutoff.

If you have already contacted Tilta and setup payment and are just awaiting credit card auth forms or for wiring confirmation, then that's fine, you're in the que.

For this, and also for solo steadicam use, I'd love to see a smaller, wired thumbwheel-type controller that can plug directly into the motor.

It seems pdmovie has one but who knows if the two systems will work together

I paid before July 1st, am I supposed to be on the group buy list?

Thanks

Did you ever respond in the thread? I know i sent out a couple of PM's since a couple people dropped out. Let me know.

Only around 230 people have actually submitted payment so far, so if you don't get your payments in this final week, you will lose your spot and be removed from the list.

Chris, I sent an email to Tilta on the 23rd requesting CC and wire payment instructions. They never responded. I sent a follow-up late on Sunday. Tilta did respond to this one, saying they never recieved the first email and asking what my number on the list was. I let them know that, but haven't heard back since then. If they're responding from China, that might be just the time difference, but payment will go out as soon as I receive an invoice.

EDIT: invoice recieved & payment sent.

Sorry, but this is not too ethical.
You have changed the terms of the Group Buy after people agreed to it.
Previous to this you clearly stated that if payment was not made by the suggested date, people would drop to the back of the list but still get the discount.
You have now changed the terms.

Only 230 people have paid out of 600.
Do you know why Chris ?
Because the manner which payment was supposed to be paid is either way too expensive or inefficient and put's people's data at risk.
It is absolutely impossible to protect people's data from third party eyes with the manner of CC payment they are suggesting.
Pure amateur hour.
Does it even bother you that the manner they are suggesting to pay by CC puts people's data at risk and is not secure ?
To this point I have seen absolutely no concern expressed on yours or Tilta's part about the latter.
Your only response to me was that if I didn't like it, basically I could drop out.

Further the level of discount should have been adjusted to reflect the fact that 600 people responded to it, not 10.

Given the level of risk on the CC form of payment and the only other alternative which is an expensive wire transfer, combined with a tiny discount, is it any wonder that most people probably decided it was not worth it ?

Tilta has only got itself to blame for not setting up a more secure, advantageous and professional response to this group buy.

Tilta had no problem accepting my payment through paypal.

No, never put anything in this thread, I just follow what was saying on the first page, (send an email to reduser@tilta.com and pay when you have
the PO) normally everything is good !

Chris has a habit of editing the original post in these group buys which just further adds confusion down the chain.

When you saw it for the first time, Chris had already wiped the entire original post and replaced it with the text that you saw. It had a payment cut-off date and a set of instructions that was to email Tilta. These instructions were for people already on the list. But to a first-time-viewer such as yourself, it looked like that's all you needed to do to join. In the original post, you had to respond here in this thread with a "+1" by a certain date to get on the list. That date is unfortunately long gone.

Chris, please take note for future group buys. You've had to answer so many repeat questions in here because you removed info from the original post. Might I suggest keep a running FAQ in the first post? And can I ask that your edits keep in consideration what confusion they might cause to first-time viewers who missed the first post?

I seem to spot what Chris missed on this GB. Normally the first line Chris usually post on his other GB after conclusion was
GROUP BUY CLOSED
It must have been an oversight on this GB
