  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY - Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Follow Focus

I have had emails back and forth with things I have added on like the extra motor cable and now haven heard back form them for a bit. I would like to use my CC so I requested a form as some have stated above so I hope to hear back from them to get this locked in.
Anyone else experiencing this? Sounds like they are a little backed up.

Same here. They responded to my initial email but suddenly dropped off the radar after June 10. I have sent them several reminders after that but haven't received any replies.

I just received the form for the Credit card info and have sent it back with my invoice so I should hear back from them soon about payment received.
Ill keep everyone here posted as to what news I get back and when.
It sure seems they are watching this thread, and responding to my emails, as soon as I posted and emailed a request for the CC form it happened.

The R/S cable will allow you to trigger the record function from the hand grip.

If Tilta are watching this thread I submitted a 2 x working day payment Last Wednesday that still hast been confirmed....
Sent an email today to Sophia who has not gotten back to me, getting worried I will lose my place.

When I wire transferred the money to China over 2 weeks ago I didn't get a confirmation from Tilta but I do have both my banks and Tilta's bank confirmation copies.

Does anyone know if both handles can be assigned to focus? Just thinking for some shoots on easyrig it could be good to have one as a top handle so that focus can be controlled when shooting low

Also, does anyone know what material the handles are made from?

I sent wire on 16th and received confirmation of receipt on 20th with note saying they would let me know when it ships.

Payment date extended until this coming Saturday, July 1st.
I remember reading where you mentioned your target was about a thousand sign ups but clearly it doesn't seem Tilta had that much expectation otherwise I guess they would have been better prepared for all this and given more realistic cut off. I guess next time they will have more confidence in your estimations, only hopes this bottle neck don't spill over into their supply /distribution execution. Kudos and thanks for all the efforts you put into all these.

Yea, I told them it could be huge, but it's really difficult to predict how many orders exactly would come in, on any group buy. I try and give companies a ball-park figure of what I think the sales could be, typically I'm pretty close.

In terms of them delivering, we get the first units that come in before all the other pre-orders they are taking worldwide. I should have my unit in like 2-3 weeks, crossing fingers, and then I can show you guys some stuff with it, although, there have been several videos posted on Facebook and online that show the motor rotating stiff focus rotation rings. Only time will tell though. If you don't like it when yours ships, you could always sell it for most likely more than you paid for it since there will be a HUGE supply/demand issue.

I'd love to get a slot if someone drops out, Chris. Thanks a lot for sorting this.

Played with it yesterday in Burbank. Moved an super stiff zoom without a problem. It'll move just about any lens save for the stiffest vintage glass on a cold day. Way stronger than DJI / Redrock. It was a proto and they're working out kinks before shipping (tighter tolerance on handgrip control, better battery latch, etc). Other notes: motor was silent. Speed on a full speed rack was good. Response / lag excellent. Built quality - superb. No steppiness at all. What also surprised me was how good the build quality was for the 15/19 handgrip bracket. I didn't order one because I have a Wooden Camera bracket but after seeing this, I'll probably modify my order. The open jaw design is convenient. The machining on the tie downs and rosette is top notch. Another note, the clamps on the motors are well designed and solid. This is replacing my now sold DJI unit. The clamps on those.......that's another story.

Totally agree with every finding you just listed. My personal favorite was the ease of use for the hand controller. Setting digital markings to vibrate the hand unit when you hit your mark was just awesome. Also, the hard stop that gets created for stills lenses that to limit your focus throw was really great to see. I'm so stoked for this unit!
