  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy - Tilta Gravity Gimbal

I chose option 3 with the updated Mimic. It will have been 3 weeks since that was announced to when it ships.

Just received my Gravity! Super fast shipping, must have cleared customs in record time. Balancing now and my Pan axis knob is incredibly tight. I have noticed a few other knobs just need to be played with a bit but this one is very very tight. It's super backheavy at the moment and need to shift forward a bit. Anyone else run into this? Maybe theres an additional latch or lock that I'm not seeing (other than the two on the tail end of the pan adjustment axis)?

You've got the main fore/aft lock...slide that all the way forward, then you have your micro adjuster too. I think cinemilled is also making a longer dovetail type plate too, but you should still have enough wiggle room to have a long setup without that.

Anybody know if Tilta's got a ring for Gravity? or anyone out there compatible with Gravity, perhaps Movi's or Ronin's ring?

I believe you can use Cinemilled's ring along with their jib/qr plate

My package is been delivered. Thanks Chris for the GB and would definitely take a look at CineMilled's ring. Thanks

Pedro. We also need a kickstand option for the ring. The new MovimPro ring has a kick stand that's Quite clever. It allows the user to put the gimbal down. Also allows you to set up the gimbal in the field without a stand.

Pedro, you just need to drop that armorman 2 Pro ring adapter now...

My buddy got his Tilta Gimbal and Armorman yesterday. We assembled it, put his Epic-W on, and it works great. Then we tried to use the Mimic. The instructions are almost useless (different menus, the graphic has four buttons while the unit has five, documentation tells how to pair but not how to use it or what the different menu items control, etc.).

Long story short, I managed to get the Tx to pair with the Rx, so it shows as paired and signal strength is good, but I can't seem to figure out how the get it to control the gimbal. Is there some secret I'm missing to get it to function?

My Gravity and Armor-man 2 just arrived, also! It includes the new Mimic, which has 'Mimic' printed right on it! How long before Freefly notices that? Can't wait to dig into it all...

they couldnt care less. They have been doing that for years. LOL.

Sorry to be a dickhead about it, but I'm soooooooooooooooooo happy I decided to wait for the Mōvi pro.

Hello Freefly , my mimic controller is working , "sorry to hear that -let's help you get it up and running right away."

I mean, I get it, sometimes Cheap is what you need, but something this failure prone, would rather pay 3-4x as much but have a real pro device.

So cleaver in fact I have been doing that since the first time I put my first PRO Ring together. hehehe.....

All you need is one of your Ronin, M,MX or Movi, Tilta handlebar grips.......and voila! "Feet". We are considering making some purpose built "feet" but honestly I already have plenty of handgrips laying around and this method works just fine. You only need one really....but if you want you can use 2.

Hey Pedro,

How is your Pro ring adapter for the Armor man going? It would be awesome pairing the Armor man to your ring.

Working on it....I need someone that owns one here in LA to let me borrow one for a few days....the one I was going to use got rented for a feature so if anyone has one I can borrow let me know....
