  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy - Tilta Gravity Gimbal

I already own one and feel I should let you guys know this rig is mega legit. Blows away most other rigs with its capabilities, and features. It really shows how Tilta has spent some time in R&D with this one. Comes out the box working seamless, no firmware updates needed fix this or that. Nothing but good experiences with my Gravity. Buy with confidence.
 
You guys really think this is better than a Mōvi m15?

it weighs almost as much as the original ronin (.4lbs less)

I just don't want this to be a "Cinegears follow focus"
...which a lot of people were really excited about and happy...

...and I thought was an absolute POS the moment I opened the box.

that thing just screamed disappointment. Like truly, garbage.

Guess I'll have to go down to AbelCine, try it and see what it's like in person.

Price is damn good - especially at the 30 piece order price... I almost got the m15 when it went on flash sale...
 
Not saying it's better - I think Movi is #1 right now, but for the price and what the Gravity does, it's build quality is A++, and how it handles felt good to me. It's lighter than the Ronin, about 6.5-7lbs..when I picked it up today it was fairly light little more than my M

Plus I'm not looking to spend $5K on the M10 or the very expensive M15..this is about right to me plus with a discount, even better.

I just wish they would put a Gold or V mount on gimbals instead of their own proprietary batteries. I know, all those batteries are different from each other, different weights. But if you uniformly used one size of battery on a gimbal, it'd be killer...

This is primarily a group buy for the Gravity...but I'll see what I can do if you just want an Armorman.

Yea...that's a pretty accurate phrase - fly's like butter. It's true. You don't even feel like the gimbal is working hard, it's effortless.

There's no limit, however, if we reach a stratosphere level, maybe they'll throw something else in.

Regarding the Cinegears...everyone had different experiences with that. For the price, it really was a great unit as there really wasn't anything in the market at the price point that was better.

In terms of this being better than an M15...that's personal preference. Freefly has done an amazing job with the development of the MoVI...there was a reason it was priced the highest and remains #1 on sets, however, Tilta has done an amazing job with the Gravity as well. They have really put the user first in enabling them to fully customize this rig for pretty much every type of camera out on the market today, and with the highest weight capacity, it performs like butter. Go down to Abel and see for yourself! You don't be disappointed.

The only issue I see with that as you mentioned is while their are only 2 mounts, there are so many different weights/sizes. If you're looking at powering most/if not all things on the gimbal with a brick and you're looking to cut weight, pick up their Armorman which has an AB/V Mount incorporated into it so that weight is on your back as opposed to your arms. Most of these gimbal batteries are relatively cheap anyways...so it doesn't hurt to pick up a few more if you even wanted to power your camera with those too.
 
Chris, thanks again for organizing another group buy. I see this one ends Sept 9th. When might we expect orders to ship to all recipients? I ask because I have a gig the week of 16 October, and if these will ship out before the end of Sept, could influence my decision.

It would ship before the end of September, unless they hit production issues.

There is a DC input By way of 4 pin lemo at the top of the gimbal and an included p-tap adapter. I haven't been able to test it yet, but I'm pretty sure it's for connecting external bricks to power the whole rig, including camera.
 
IBC is around the corner, I really want to test it before I buy. But the GB is closing right before IBC. I would still have a week after the deadline right? That would mean I can attend IBC during that period and decide if I still want to buy. Can I do that?

Most likely, though you'd still need to pay the shipping charge since it's coming from China to Abel, then shipped from there.

You need to commit before the conclusion of the group buy, and after the conclusion, you'll have a week to pay if for some reason you don't like it at IBC.

Ok...you could probably sell it for what you would pay for it if you hated it..just a thought. Would hate to see you lose out on some savings.
 
+1 (both Gravity and Armoour man) please, HOWEVER you should have come out with this 2 months ago before I bought my MX:banghead:,
BTW does Tilta have a wireless tramitter to feed the screen on the mimic controller?
