  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy - Teradek Bolt

Just saw the extras on this GB! Please put me down for 1x DSMC2 500
I'm still figuring out the best receiver solution for me. Can the 703 Bolt easily switch back and forth between two different camera transmitters, or see both split-screen?

Haven't been in that situation yet, but you can pair to specific transmitters and do it that way, don't know if there's a quick toggle.

There are two SDI Inputs, or one in and one out for a passthrough situation.

Pretty sure as it's a 703 it supports Dual View, but there is only one receiver in there, so you would have to switch sources to do that wirelessly or add something like a Sidekick into the mix to have a separate wireless feed.

On a side note, and though whatever region your in and likely how crowded your airspace is, the 703 Bolt is rated for 300 feet. In testing I've been able to get about 2X that in a clear space with a 3000. Also tested it when it was first announced at NAB where things are "rather busy" up there and it did well, just didn't measure it.

Hello,

Thanks for adding me to the GB I recieved your PM Phil. The only problem I got is that I have to put a phone number but it's formatted for US phones and not international.
I filled the form with a fantasy number. Hope they will contact me by mail.

The 703 Bolt can only switch between (or view two simultaneous feeds) using Dual View Mode on the monitor. That would require an additional Bolt receiver to the one already in the 703. Unfortunately, there is no way to pair 2 transmitters with one receiver and switch between them quickly.

As for range, the 703 Bolt goes up to 500ft officially, but you can squeeze out another 100ft+ depending on interference in your area.

Does that mean that it is essentially the equivalent of a Sidekick built into a 703 monitor?

Is the range any different when different model TX's are on the other end?

(Scenario: 3000 & Bolt 703 are linked, then moved away from each other - for instance using with a drone)

Never considered that with all the questions I was asking last week...

Damn your tempting good deal impulse buy upsell web purchase (shakes fist at sky), I guess you can upgrade me to 500 xt deluxe here if it matters. Also may want to check the 703 bolt order page looked like may have 2 gold mount options and no v mount option.

I'll have Teradek look at that, but they will contact you all individually to ensure you're getting exactly what you are after once the GB ends.

The 500 XT is sort of the steal here as at top tier discount you are getting the XT for the listed price of an LT when you think about it. I mean even on the bigger 3000 XT you are looking at $,$$$ four figure savings.

Looks like I'll need to lock in a DSMC2 3000 package.
w/ 3000RX
For purposes of the GB deadline, the 703 Directors kit and a sidekick to go with the DSMC2 3000.

I know there is a wait involved - but after speaking with Teradek last week, am quite satisfied with the process finalizing everything after the official launch.

Major appreciation goes out to you for setting this ever expanding GB up. Great job!

Thanks also to the folks at CSNY and Teradek for chasing down some specific questions I had.
