Hey folks. In my search for a wireless follow focus system that has some future expandability for additional channels, I came across RTMotion. For my purposes, I found it to be the most affordable solution. They have some great accessories coming out too. The great news is that they have put together a special discount of 20% for the first 50 customers. You can sign up on their site and you will get a coupon code. You will also need to put a deposit down when the special ends. Time is limited as RTMotion needs to get all the parts in order to get you these in a timely manner. More details to come shortly.

We need 30+ names for this deal by around May 15th.

REDUSER GROUP BUY CLOSED!

Here is the link to the REDUSER RTMotion offer:

I'll add all more details like the price and pics of the accessories as I get them.

Oh snap! FF group buy poach! Redrock vs. RTMotion... what to do?

What are we looking at here, about $3,000 for their basic kit (before discount)?

Initially when I first saw the new Red Motors I was thinking the Red Element or RT Controller. Hmmm.. Now I must make a decision. Must think.

The RED motors won't wire directly to their receiver (different technology, which is why their receiver is 3-channel and tiny), but luckily they have a (~$120) active-dongles coming which allow 3rd party motors to plug into the standard receiver.

I own an RTMotion MK2.5 (same receiver and motor, just older handset) and it is amazing! Super smooth and responsive, connectivity hasn't been an issue and I love the fact that it maps your lenses to the whole wheel so when using SLR glass it makes it a way better experience.

Another great feature is the 3 speed settings, smooth, normal or fast which can be changed on the fly for the style of pull you'll be doing. The motor is super quiet too. I'm hoping I can upgrade to the MK3 soon, looks awesome.

The final thing I like about this system is the small size of the receiver, having just ordered a steadicam this thing will go perfectly with it. It literally fits underneath the SSD module on my scarlet... it perfectly slots in there, it's almost like it's part of the camera. Great design.

will this also be good for the smallest kit with just 1 motor?

It says on the website that the offer is good for any-size order - including accessories...
Also - for a limited time there is a FREE slider upgrade option for the basic kit... ;o)

Thanks for reminding me Peter. The basic controller will be replaced with the better unit that includes the slider. The only upgrade for the controller is the precision joystick. Which by the way can be upgraded at a later time, but you have to send it back for that upgrade. Still, it's great that it can be done later.

Not cool. If people jump ship, then we don't have enough for either group buy and everyone loses.
Sorry, I meant jump ON the ship actually - this happens when I try to say stuff in English while my native language is German actually, but well... I'm really more interested in this one then in the redrock one since this is the smaller unit and I don't need the iPhone stuff (it's "nice" but I'll have a dedicated focus-monitor so I don't really need this stuff).

Oh, sorry Peter, I misunderstood. Everyone is entitled choose. Each system has its pros and cons. It all depends on each individuals needs and budgets.
