  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY: RTMotion Wireless Multi-Channel Follow Focus - Limited Time!

I'm just a little worried, Bob, that since you are my Canadian alter-ego... what degree of chaos the time-space continuum will be thrown into if we have different Wireless FF Systems???

I won't hold it against you. You already have a better haircut then me :)

Nice

The precision joystick is for using it for zoom I think. Otherwise its slider or rotary knob. Using the joystick for focus is very difficuly and certainly cant be accurate at all.
the RT system is a very nice system and these guys have done huge steps since day one, Now the system is very proffessional and upgradeable.
Very nice,.

My mistake Constantine. Thanks for the clarification. I did indeed mean to say precision zoom instead of focus.

This is where I'm pulling my hair out on my purchasing decision. The now Red Element hand controller actually has a smaller wheel for zoom, which I like for precision work.

Too many good options now. To many decisions. Head and bank exploding. I'll make my decision next week. I've always like the RT Motion gear. It's high end stuff and responsive.

Hi Phil! The hand units actually have two small side-knobs (A) and (B) which you can attach to any axis, so you could (for example) buy a 2-motor kit and assign one of the side-knobs to Zoom. You'd need to put the Zoom motor into "slow mode" which makes it silky smooth, otherwise your zoom moves will be pretty useless. Hope that makes sense!

We have actually had customers use the joystick for precision focusing- because our brushless motors offer extreme smoothness at low speeds, the zoom joystick can be useful for making micro focus adjustments on very long lenses. This is really niche though, constantine is right that generally it's a bad idea for focus. Use the big knob.

I like the fact you can start with the one motor and move on to a three with out replacing anything you've started with. Very nice flexibility considering you never know what you may need down the road...

No extra fee's/taxes apply when shipping it in Europe if using an EU VAT correct Kris?

If that's the case another leg up in my opinion for us European buyers..

Also is the joystick something that can be added on at a later date should it be wanted?

32 names in just 12 hours. Does that mean we can start placing orders today?
