GROUP BUY - NISI Cinema Filters

i am from NiSi filters...

Hello Rocky,

thanks for participating in these forums. May I ask two questions?

1. Do you plan to offer filter with stronger than 2.1? For time-lapse I would be interested in up to 14 stops if possible.

2. Do you plan to offer 6x6 Grads with other than a soft edge? I am looking at very hard edge (like this), reverse grad, and most importantly "Attenuator" filters.

TIA!
David

Hi David,
1.It depends on what kind of filter do you need, we have CAMERA filters(photography) and CINEMA filters(cinematography), the thickness of them are different: camera filters are 2mm, couldn't be used on matt box. For the camera filters, we already have 15 stops ND, but for cinema filters, as very few customers will ask for that stop, i think we won't produce a 14 stops ND recently.

2.We have 6.6x6.6" Soft edge cinema filter and 180mm (camera filter)Soft, Hard, Reverse edge filters. In fact, the filter you link to(LEE filters) are camera filters. Below is the link for your reference:

By the way, i plan to visit Munich Cinec show in Sept, Dedo will show our filters on their booth and their opening house party, will you be there?

Hello Rocky,

thanks for participating in the forums. I am only talking about cinema filters with 4mm thickness, the link to the Lee filters was just to explain what I mean with a very hard edge (regular hard edge have a softer transition). I've seen your "soft edge" 6x6 filters but I also use hard edge and soft edge equally when shooting and often use the soft edge filters as attenuators (which works okay with the taller than wide photographic filters I currently own and use), it would be nice to have real attenuators with a linear top to bottom transition for a change.
I am aware that stronger NDs are not that common in cinematography but it would be nice to have those as well since I really need them for time-lapse and I guess I am not the only one looking for a cinema style ND kit for TL (Formatt goes up 3.0 regularly and offers 3.9 as well as 4.8 on demand), 2.1 is definitely not enough for many TL scenarios.

Good to know you're at the Dedo Weigert booth at Cinec, I certainly plan to attend it. Will certainly say Hello if I make it to the expo. :-)

Hi David,
Thanks for your explain and suggestion, we will definitely produce deeper ND, but not now, we are new in this industry and we have too many new products to develop, we will put the most needed filter on the top of the list. So maybe we need to wait for some months.

Hope to see you on the Cinec,

Rocky

I will get the set at the current level of 10. So you can keep me on the list.
Does the clear filter also have the water resistant coating?

do the filters come with individual pouches or just a case that holds all of them?

Nisi has taken another 5% off for the tier level we are at now. Share this to all your fellow friend filmmakers to see if we can hit that top tier level of 30 orders! They are also including an extra case too!!

Chris, what's the total discount we're at now?
I must have missed the update in the last five pages...

+ 1 above 30.
4x5.6 IRND set
:)

me too

me too

I'd like to put my name in the hat too.. IRND set.

but it I have a tech question.
im buying for my soon to arrive Scarlet.
My current box holds 4x4 filters, is there a
reason I might want to switch to 4x5.6 ?

thank you,

Curtis

Hi, +1 please for 4 X 5.65 IRND set at the +30 level.

IDK if individual pouches are included, but if not, perhaps they might become part of the GB...?

Thank you,
Ben

Please add me.

Can I add a rota pola? Do they make? Or a circular pola, and get that put into a rota tray? I have bright tangerine misfit and no rotating tray :(

Hi Justin:
Thanks for your join, no we don't have the circular pola yet, but we are developing and already have the sample, it is with the rota tray, i think it could be launched in one or twp months.

Thanks :)

Hi Curtis,

It all depends on how many filters you use and stack. On wider angled lenses with large front diameters 4x4 filters may vignette.

Thanx Eric, .. that's what I was thinking, .. and I like my 10mm. Any suggestions for a fair priced mattbox that holds 4x5.6??
Sorry to run the thread off course, .. can PM me if that's better.

Added Justin.

@ Curtis - If you can swing it, I'd go with the bigger size. Like Eric mentioned, it'll help you using wider lenses as well as filter stacking. Check out the wooden camera matte box...great piece of kit for an amazing price!!
