  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Interesting. Didn't come with my doors, but I'm still waiting on the softbox, so maybe it's coming with that. Thanks.

Some of the accessories are on back-order but Adorama is working closely w/Litepanels to deliver these ASAP. I should have more details soon on this. I'm sorry this wasn't clearly communicated with you during the purchase.

Aw man, I'm sorry. That is frustrating. I'm on vacation in CO but I can reach out to the sales team and follow up on this for you. They should be able to mail this directly to you.

Tyler I have several spare 25' powercon cables that should work with the Gemini I can let you borrow one if you need it. I'll be in your area Friday or Saturday evening.

Update: Just got a shipping notification from Vitec directly. I assume it's a power cable.

Nice job putting this together Travis. Everything has been arriving as it has become available. Currently just waiting on 3 BT dongles.
 
I have all the BT dongles...but they do not work. On the firmware the lights arrived with...my IOS app showed Gemini but would not connect. Now...after updating firmware...I see something else but it will not connect either.
 
What are your guys take on stands ? Looking for something light, that receive the pin, that might be able to fit in a Tenba case ( about 44inches long ) but still provides stability.

also someone posted the portabrace website link for a deal on one hard and one soft case. Do you guys know the difference between that softcase and the one that is commonly available at retailer like BH but around 160's$ ? Still need to go pick my gemini and still waiting on snapbag and grid.

I bought 2 of the portabrace bags from B&H as well as 2 Mathews Jr Baby adapters to use on my c stands. I have some jr stands but they are heavy.
 
Just got my order in minus the accessories. These things are amazing. Cant wait to use them on tomorrows shoot. I also ordered the portabrace bag from B&H as well as a Mathews Jr Baby adapter to keep in the case for c-stands when needed. Otherwise I will probably put it on a Low Boy Combo stand.
 
Update - Packages arrived today and in some huge double boxes. They barely fit into my car. Looking forward to opening them :)

Anyone else having trouble with a squirrelly menu jog dial? It works fine when I move it swiftly but when I try to do precise dials to an exact number it registers as if I am dialing it back and forth in either direction, very frustrating. Is this a hardware issue that I need to take to lightpanels to fix?

Yes, I'm seeing that as well, kinda seems like a loose rotary dial.
 
I emailed Litepanels, waiting to hear back, hopefully I can just bring it in to a service center in LA, I'll let you know what I hear.
