  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: L'Aigle Exoskeleton

omg, kinda painfull watching this exchange, lol. would have been nice to have a better video on setting up the "le pierre" but obviously that was promised long ago and isn't happening in a timely manner. This video does gives you the basics that you need but in a very esoteric indirect way, whatever. I'm loving my " Le Pierre" and glad I didn't spend all that money on a case that requires disassembly witch is totally impractical for anything but shipping long distance. Play with it a bit Terry and you will be rewarded.

Got mine and it seems like a great bit of kit. My only complaint (and it's a big one) is the rig footprint thanks to the very wide line taken by the arms meaning it won't fit through doors which means I wouldn't have been able to use the exo on my past three Movi jobs due to it's design. Which is a huge drag. Was there no way the arm design could have gone over the shoulder and looped inwards as opposed to out so that you're not so wide? It seems like an awkward choice to me and will impact it's usability in real world situations.

Is there any chance of an optional arm redesign which we could swap out? Other products on the market seem to have a much smaller footprint.

isn't there the possibility to turn it temporarily 90 degrees sideways while you are passing the door ? the gimbal keeping the horizon?

It is super easy to pass through doorways

won't fit through doors

Well, looks like a personal matter.

Anyway, here are two tips for narrow doors:
- try using one arm only attached onto the center handle and remove the other completely (one screw only at the mounting block)

- try lower the mounting block in order for the exoarms to be able to get underneath your arms rather than alongside.

I'm not familar with this move. I presume using the rig on remote it might offer something but no possible way with majestic mode but any suggestions welcome.

i think it was explicitly shown in one of the Videos that are a couple of weeks or months old - when roll is not in follow mode the gimbal should stay level i would assume ?

isn't this "steering wheel like 90 Degrees rotate" a feature that is built in Pierre with this purpose ?

Looks like my first issue is that I can't find the metal pin that fits into the stand. Hmmm... I wonder if it's there somewhere in the soft case? Looked in h pockets... have to look some more. :-(

EDIT: Problem solved... snuggled way down in the bottom of the side pocket of the soft case...

Pierre - you re at your best when you are being helpful and calm. :-)

Question: Is your second suggestion (using lower mounting block) a good approach, in general, if we want to keep things narrow? Is there a down side to it?

Terry, there’s a flip side to each coin! The dowside of the lower exoarms block is that they won’t go as high as your own arms would. But in tiny NYC appartments for instance, where you’re looking for the smallest footprint, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Pierre, I've heard theres two versions of the arms. If the unit shipped with a soft case originally, will it still fit in the hard case? I'm looking to purchase the hard case after the fact.

Sorry Fellas' I thought it was $362, however Its $326.... but still something isn't correct...

Wow, something's wrong. FEDEX sent me a bill for 48.00 dollars.

Import duty rate is based on HS Tariff code and somehow Kwan's invoice said the item is under tariff code 6217.10.9530 which is Other Made Fablic or belts (duty rate 14.6%).
I think Exoskeleton should be listed as Camera Support (HS Tariff code 7616.99.5090, duty rate 2.5%) like other steadicam or easyrig products.

My Exo came in today. Excited to take it for a spin :).

For the users who got the single rod version arms (soft cases), anybody have any ideas on a hardcase? Pierre? Cheers.
