  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY: Hive 200-C

Have we hit tier 4 yet? :-)

I presume we can tweak our accessory orders once group buy is up? I'm thinking I want to change my aks to be one double battery mount (since that comes with a cable) and then one spare cable.

Yes once we conclude the group buy, Abel Cine will be sending each person who has pledged a unique discount code that can be used on the accessories of their choosing at the time of final purchase.

Count me in for four (4) Hornet 200-C units. I'll choose accessories when the time comes. Who knows, maybe the full-sized Leko adapters teased on your IG account will be available to purchase at that time!

So we have had some pretty great reactions to our Full sized Source 4 adapter rig, so we rushed and we are going to be able to ship it in September at the same time as our Hornet 200-C from the GroupBuy:


Built adapter including Barrel and Lens MSRP is : $841.05 but the with the RedUser discount it will be: $756.95

We are excited to offer this to GroupBuy members first!

Jon (& possibly others with Leko experience),

Myself having used full sized S4 Leko's but have never touched the Mini ones, what would be the main advantages of using the full size vs the mini adapter/barrels/etc?

I've got a few minis in the studio. They have a smaller range of lens options (19, 26, 35, 50 vs 5, 10 19, 26, 35, 50, 90, zoom). The smaller gobo size means less resolution/more diffraction and chromatic aberration. The minis are fantastic for cutting simple shapes with its built-in shutters (though can be fidgety using 19mm lens-very small moves hard to control).

If you already have $1000 or more in Size B gobos the full-sized leko is very attractive!

Michael is exactly right! The other thing I would add is that the full sized Leko will be significantly brighter than the mini Leko because we were able to better optimize optics because of the larger physical size we could fit in a reflector.
