  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy - Formatt-Hitech Firecrest ND Filters

Just curious Phil, do you think that 82mm is too big of a step up from 67mm? I have a few lenses at 67 / 72 / 77 and one at 82. I figured if I just go for the largest and step down to all the lenses using XUME adapters, that'd be the most cost effective. Would love you

Not at all Randy. I've tried to minimize my general filter kit to 4x5.65" and 77mm screw-in as much as possible. Having a larger size that fits on your glass works great with step-up rings. In fact every still lens I have I've either Duclos Cine-Mod'd or added my own 80mm front to. It just got silly carrying a million filters around. Now I have a couple sets of both of my 4x5.65"s and 77mms and that's all I truck with me outside of a couple specialty things.

Alright party people. It's 12:45am and I've sifted through all the orders and who made them.

It's now June 2nd and this Group Buy is now closed.

We've got over 80 participants, which is fantastic news!

Tomorrow I'll be sending out PMs and/or emails with order instructions and who to talk to at Hot Rod Camera. The ball will be in your court to send them your info.

As a double redundancy, I'll be sending them and Formatt the overall list of what everybody has ordered. Formatt's been on top of this Group Buy since day 1 preparing stock, so this should go pretty smoothly.
Awesome work Phil. Legendary effort!

Thank you for the reply! PM sent! Hoping to get a few last questions answered and modify my order to all 82mm as notated at the bottom of my previous post :). Cheers!

Whew! At this point all of you should have received a Private Message or Email containing what to do next on this Group Buy.

Follow those instructions. Once completed your order will ship.

The ball is in your court. The fast you get Hot Rod Camera your info and they get back to you, the quicker your order will ship.

Thanks Phil! Email sent!

^ Would be great if Hot Rod will still offer the discount to people like me that are late to this party! Email sent. Thanks Phil

Thanks again Phil! Picked up most of my filters from Hot Rod yesterday. As a heads up to everyone, some of the filters have not come in yet from Formatt (like the mist filters and the low con 1) so there is still a wait on those.

If anyone missed the group buy and is looking for the superslim screw in nd. They are on sale at there website. For me to Canada the shipping was much cheaper and came out ahead vs the group buy.

Filters arrived today and wanted to say thanks so much to Phil for organizing but also to Hot Rod Camera. They were an absolute pleasure to deal with.

Thanks guys. Great to hear the positive feedback. It was indeed a good chunk of effort to make it all happen by everybody involved.

Happy shooting. Treat your filters well and they'll last you a lifetime.
