I have hinted at this for a few months and it’s finally here! The much anticipated sequel to last year’s extremely successful DS1 group buy. I know that we weren’t able to accommodate everyone last year, due to limited supply so this is your opportunity to get in on an incredible deal and own a pair of some of the most versatile lights on the market.
For those of you still unfamiliar with the DS1, here’s a short video from Ty Evans explaining how he uses them in his productions.
I have a set of these lights myself and love how portable and dynamic they are. The DS1 is a 140w RGB-tunable fixture with built-in WIFI that connects directly to the DS DMX app so the user can adjust color, hue, saturation and intensity right from their phone. Each DS1 fixture comes with dual-mounted v-mount plates, which enables the user to run their light for extended periods of time. The DS1 can also be run off a generator or plugged directly into house power.
The DS1 has a beam angle of 20 degrees and if it’s used without diffusion is considered a hard source, which I find very flexible. It’s easy to soften a light with diffusion but near impossible to make a soft light work as a hard source. The included holographic diffusion filters allow the user to alter the beam angle even further to 34 or 76 degrees.
Director, DP and light guru Adrien Oneiga is a wizard with RGB lighting and has used the DS1 to great effect in his captivating underwater work. Set to release soon, his project Alchemie used a variety of DS lighting and he’s been kind enough to share some BTS pics with us.

Digital Sputnik lights aren’t just for owner/operators or small production houses. They were used extensively by Greig Frasier in Rogue One, Jess Hall in Ghost in the Shell and have a new fan in Dante Spinotti, who used them in Marvel’s Ant Man and the Wasp.

A: Yes! AB mount is an additional $210 USD, which includes 4 AB plates. One on each side of the fixture.
Q: How much is shipping for the DS1 set?
A: $100 flat both US and international.
Q: Will I be taxed on the DS1 set?
A: CA residents will be taxed. All other orders are tax free.
Q. What is the pricing for international orders?
A. Pricing is in USD, monitor your country's exchange rate for the most accurate calculation.
Q. How long will it take for the lights to ship to me?
A. The DS1 set will ship via air direct to customer from our factory. So if we can ship on Monday then the customer should have their lights by Friday the same week in the USA.
