Hey guys. I'm sorry that communication from Cinegears has been sparse for those of you still awaiting on some accessories. I've pinged Steven again to see what's going on to try and get this issue resolved for you guys. If you are still missing something, post here in the forum what it is you're missing so there is a log here as well. Hopefully most of you have received everything and are enjoying your units!

If Steven is checking in here periodically, let me put this bug in your ear -

I love the unit, I have the extreme motor and it performs flawlessly. However, I have had every AC who has used the unit have one complaint, and it is an easy one to fix.

There is a level of smoothing, or damping, applied to the start and stop of the motor. It is very subtle, and I understand why you did it that way. Every motor driver I have worked with has some form of PID or attack and decay settings. While that makes sense for your preset focus points, so that it doesn't seem robotic, it doesn't make sense for an AC pulling focus. If you are pulling focus on someone walking towards you, or dollying in on an a actor, and they stop - the focus wheel needs to go dead the microsecond you stop turning the wheel. The way it works now, is that you stop, the actor stops, and then the focus motor does it's cozy little ramp down thing and the shot goes just an RCH soft.

It's a super easy fix in software, and a firmware upgrade would be greatly appreciated. I can honestly say, that that is the only complaint I have received about the unit, but it's kind of an important one.

Also, to everyone else, it turns out power cables for the bartech are the same pinouts, and completely compatable. That is a major bonus for those of us that have a pile of bartec cables sitting around.

Cheers,

Nick

Indicator on the motor? I will check it once I can.

I am powering motors from the DJI Ronin P-Tap, so it should give enough juice, right?
I hope this is error from my side ..

I bought mine month or so ago, so I would hope it's one of the latest Ronins.
Does the NEW power distribution box have some kind of a different part number, so I can be sure I get the newest?
Did they sent you one for free? You had problem with powering accessories?

There are a lot of videos flying around. Is there one core video (or written piece) that explains how to pair the transmitter and receiver, and generally how to operate the system?

Okay, there is this one: http://cinegears.com/cingears-wireless-follow-focus-manual-setup-guidance/

Anything else? Have you found anything that provides a basic troubleshooting approach? (I hate to call them until at least I've done my basic homework).

Any of the DIY videos work.

I too was asking back in early September and honestly the simplest set-up compared to a BARTECH and RT.

Hi Jim,

The basic instruction is printed in the back of the controller.
Cinegears provides PDF menu for download, there is also a smart phone optimized version available for view online.

What lens? Sounds like an issue with the lens set up. Backlash in the gear or the helix.
