  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

GROUP BUY: Cinegears Wireless Follow Focus Christmas Special!

I have a temp tracking number, but no idea who to even check the tracking number is with? I tried DHL and AusPost but the number doesn't work?

Try USPS..or fedex. May be doing from China (as some shipments are) which I believe uses EMS.

Hmmm... that is not quite what I expected the Red record cable to look like. It's actually three cables plus a dongle. I was thinking more like one cable coming directly from the motor unit to the camera.

I was the same, if its a dispatch notification then its probably on it way to you, as that whats what happened to me, i got the tracking number after it was in customs.
Having few issue with my unit, Matt has been very helpful. my system out of the box is in protected mode and won't come out of it, may need to go back.
Missing few things in the box also, but all the main parts are there.

Yeah tried those shipping companies and it didn't work :(
Unfortunately Australian customs are terrible so if I'm waiting on them to contact me with a tracking number then I'll be waiting for the rest of my life haha :(

Could be similar to me then, in that DHL will contact you for any customs payment before releasing. It actually got the UK in 3 days, but sat in Customs for 4.
I only got the tracking number due to DHL wanting paid, as i still had the temp, so if you have a dispatch notice i would imagine its probably on its way to you.

This is not a very clean setup, a mess, really. I use a "B" Box on the camera all the time for TC, which uses the sync port, this remote won't work for me. A dissapointment for sure.

Hi Andrew,

Please check out this video for self protection mode of the motor.

However, I am going to sent you a new unit.

Also, we would like announce that the RED Remote trigger is in stock and ready for shipping.

Due to the holiday rush, this is just a brief introduction about the trigger.
We will publish a better video later with further instruction.

Also, for those who need additional accessories, please email us and we are happy to help.

Thank you guys for all the support and paticence, Merry Christmas everyone!:emote_happyhappy::emote_happyhappy:

Ya, cables look a mess, but they just threw it together. Without another wifi peripheral, they have to attach to that port unfortunately. I love that it can be controlled with the actual remote though, course I use the hotlink too, so in wondering if this would inference at all since I LOVE the hotlink setup!

Sometimes things like this need to be developed in order to really see if it works. It obviously will still work for a good chunk of users. I'll have to think on that to see if I'm gonna order one.

You Could always sell it if you don't need it.

Hi Steve,

CINEGEARS Red remote trigger can trigger RED without using "B" box or additional cable.
The users can still use "B" Box for Time code and Genlock, while using the Cinegears Trigger.
Cinegears Trigger can be used by gimbal stablizer operator by which they can trigger the camera while operating.

It can be used as a stand alone Rec Trigger,
it also can be used with Cinegears Wireless Motor
for wireless remote Rec Start/Stop control.

The "B" Box compatible trigger is using a much easier mechanism to trigger RED camera, but requires additional purchase of additional cable.
We are now manufaturing a B box campatible START/STOP trigger and it should be avaible in one month.

People who are more interested in the B box trigger with BNC cable, contact us anytime and we can switch it for you.

Steve,

I think what may be surprising to most is that the trigger does not have a built-in rechargeable battery…
The wireless motor looks quite attractive by combining the motor, receiver and power without requiring external cables.

Adding the wire for power to the switch also consumes or requires another DTap.
Any chance there may be a USB chargeable switch in the future?

Hi Steven,
Ive sent you an email earlier today, new motor would be great as this one wont come out of the self protection mode even resetting as per the video.
Would it be possible for the other parts missing to be sent with new motor also. I really appreciate all the help that Matt gave me yesterday trying to resolve the motor, really first class support.
However, and unfortunately in my case something is wrong with the motor, and happy to receive another one, so many thanks.

Hope everyone has a great Christmas tomorrow.

Andrew.

Steven,
Thanks for the choice in cables. Per our conversation, if the BNC compatible start/stop is self powering and only needs one cable from the motor to the B Box it's brilliant! Put me down for that in lieu of the cable available now.
Have a great Xmas everyone!

Steven,

Is the other start / stop box anything like the Madly Fins product:
http://madlyfins.com/index.php?id_product=42&controller=product

Or will yours also have an interface to the wireless motor?

Thank you and the best of holidays!

Edit / note: Like Steve Green, I also have a B-Box and use an earlier version of the MF product to remotely start and stop the camera…
However, if your newer dedicated switch with BNC will also tie into the wireless motor, well, that would be sweet.

I was part of the first group buy. I've been learning to use the Cinegears Wireless remote. Gotta say this is one first class piece of my kit. It is totally customizeable in ways that make it very useful. I can auto calibrate, manaual calibrate, or even remap the rotation of the controller wheel. Very very useful if full rotation is too much, like when used to control lens zoom.
