We testing those lenses for a project next month I have to say those lenses where the nicest things I stuck onto our Epic so far... We shot with the ultra primes and master primes and so on but to me perfectly clear lenses are not always the best. On those high quality digital cameras I find the Ultra Primes to be like looking out trough a newly cleaned window... The Technovisions on the other hand is like looking through a stack of glass that flares in all ways imaginable. We shot all lenses of the set and they all behave quite similar but this is the 75mm with some color fiddle afterwords in FLAME did one with raw settings as 5700 kelvin and a with 3000 kelvin just to see it in different light. The scene as you will see was poorly lit (it's my flame suite) with there are some yellow/orange uggly shining IKEA lamps in the celling (horrible not only for shooting have to change them to something more balanced soon) and then a construction sight kind of worklamp together with daylight sun slipping in between the curtains... Simply not a nice mix of light at all. But those Technovision lenses makes the worst turd kind of scenery shine like mad. Even this little thing got me thinking of Alien I and all other big movies. Why shoot with anything except anamorphic was atleast my thought.:)

Thank you for posting these. I watched the 3000K and PAL videos.

These lenses look wonderful. I like the flare - and it's natural. One thing that should be banned is adding flare in post. It is quite irritating. I love flare if it's a natural product of the lens, but to add it in post? Lame. Compositors surely have better uses of time than that?

I'd love to see these lenses taken outdoors at night. I'd love to see how street and traffic lights behave. :-)

As a post guy I disagree. Flares are the coverups of all evil.
We will use these lenses and the milo to shot a small flare with HDR against black in position for each pixel of the Epic and then make a Nuke plugin so we can generate Technovision flares onto any material. And make it so it is possible to have a alpha channel as the light source so for example if the lamp is big and square we would be able to mimic that perfectly or small and round then the flare would behave accordingly.

When done Im sure that would sell to a major post facilites, since there is no such option out there now we only have geeky flairs that most people do no know how to compositie. they do only do round lamps etc.

Will show you when done and I think you will reconsider. It's in the pipe for this spring.

As I see for this shot was used old lens - making image as LOMO Anamorph ...
Focus breathe visible ...
Where can see demo shot with Epic + Hawk lens ( Russian-German product for Vantage ) ?
And wait for promised RED ANAMORPH Lens set

I won't reconsider. :-P I already think that fake lens flare looks good. The problem is that it's fake, not that it doesn't convince. :-) But I'd like to see the results of your labours, definitely.

Regardless of my sensibilities, I hope that you sell a lot of licenses! Afterward, DPs can change their mind and see it my way. See? We both can win!
