Group Buy - Cinegears Ghost Eye Wireless

What's the performance/distance through walls? U can never have enough range but for me being in NYC the performance through walls is my biggest question/need. Thx

The 400M is insane. Cinegears is sending me a demo of the 150M and I'll try and do a range test for you guys.

Hi Jamon,

If you working in a high wireless signals interfering environment, 400M is recommended.

I think the 150M should be able to go through walls as well. Will test that once I receive the demo and let you know
Yes, Some clients told us Ghost eye 150m has quite strong wireless video transmission capbilty, it works fine under raining weather condition, it can go through the all.

Here is my biggest concern. OK, so I'm moving from my Paralinx unit and am in the market for a new wireless solution.. I recently used 2 Teradek units on my last feature and they worked great.. Most people i come across know teradek.. Will i be able to rent this? like will people say ahh nah man i want teradek?

Hi,

First question (maybe stupid) : is audio also sent with the image ?
Second : For roof top from one building to the other or in a straight street without any walls, can we really hope 400 meters distance range ? (I mean 2 or 3 hours without any loss of the signal at full 1080 quality) or shall i be more pessimist and gamble on 900 meters for 400 real meters, and 400 for 150 real meters ?

Hi Oliver,
Yes, audio can be send through SDI or HDMI input. Time code can be transmitted too.

The Ghost eye 400m has minimun 400 miter wireless video transmission range, when you using our Extended High Range Antenna, 400 mutter working range is guaranteed. Some clients have reached 1500 miter transmission range.

Hi Matthew,

like always, Cinegears provides minimun 30 day money back guarantee on all Cinegears products.

I don't think that people tend to be picky with these systems, this is true for cameras and lenses but as far as wireless go, if it works then fine. Cinegear is cheaper than teradek too so you can lower the price a little bit which, considering the quality of the transmission is the same or better, will bring you more rentals.

Renting these shouldn't be a problem. Honestly, the 150M will be fine for 90% of you guys. More people should be jumping on this.

Something that shouldn't be overlooked is the fact that you can mix and match TX/RX from different sets and that the 150m and above have both SDI and HDMI. That makes this system immediately more flexible than others on the market.

You don't get LUT support or the ability to capture video on a laptop via USB 3 (GRAB engine) like the Bolt series. So in that regard, if that's a client concern, then you would need a Teradek. Although, Paralinx doesn't have these either so I see these as a luxury feature.

I can also confirm that the 400m sends two discrete channels in stereo without summing into mono, even when converting from an SDI source to HDMI out. Could be very useful for a director to patch into a monitor and have channel separation.

I should be getting a 150m soon to test and confirm it works on that set as well.
