  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

I belive I understand what you wrote.

Here is your quote: I just saw you edited your post. The Duv will be a little better, but it sounds like you are using your variable strips as single color strips by powering both the warm and cool LEDs 100% instead of fading between the two colors. I don't see how you can expect that to match the color you get from a single color daylight source since they will vary in color temp by as much as 1500K-2000K.

Once again - I'm not mixing 4000K light that I get when I power varibale strip at full power, but I'm mixing 3200K aputure amaran 672 + varibale strips set at 3200K (measured to match), but your strips have 1/4 stop of magenta in it (again, measured).

I guess this is where we both just keep repeating ourselves. You are powering the 2700k chip and the 6000k chip both at 100% on the variable strips. That is mixing. I get that you are doing that to increase the output, but that will affect the color and likely makes the magenta shift you see more pronounced. You are also mixing to create a 3200k source, which, as I've explained several times, also affects the color. You would get better results with a single 3200k chip. Again, this is true of any variable LED light source. I gave you the Duv numbers for 2700k and 6000k, which are within range of what is out there, and better than many popular lights. They were all tested by me with a lab grade color spectrometer. If you feel the need to gel the lights to match other lights you have, then gel them. I've never needed to and haven't heard of anyone else doing it with these, but have at it. If your problem is with variable LED lights in general, I don't disagree. I primarily use single color lights and keep everything modular to maximize the color quality and output. I tend to use variable when I'm matching existing light, like in a china ball on a boom going down the street at night or in a car or, really, anywhere I want to dial in a color temp that's not tungsten or daylight.

Ok, that is the answer I was looking for - so "magenta shift" is the downside of variable strips... I dont have daylight strips yet so I could compare it to.

will anyway make an comparison when I will have lights assembled on a shoot.

thanks!

When does shipping resume?
I would really like to finally get my hands on this stuff. Finally.

Early next week, I'm told. I'm frustrated with waiting, too.

I have 3 controllers available for 100 a piece plus shipping pm me if Interested

This is next week. And it is almost over. Any updates?

Thank you Solomon, and Anthony.

So yeah, my father passed away a few days ago. I'm heading to the US in the morning for the funeral. I will be back home on the 30th and back to work full-time on the 31st. I will try to get some work done this week, but I really don't know how much time I will have. I will do my best.

I am so sorry to hear about your dad. My deepest condolences.

My deepest condolences.

My friend Trung Le who took over my order was trying to to get in touch with you via email but he has not received any further reply or upate from you regarding the order.
He told me that it has been rather unpleasant experience as he sent you couple of emails but no concrete answer about his order at all. He would like to know if there is another mean to contact you directly? skype or phone number or anyway that he can get his order to be shipped out as it has been more than 2 years waiting. I know that you are not at the state of worrying about the order right now but can you please see into my friend's order when you get back to work? thank you very much

Because everything is in the final stages, I believe once the rest of the controllers are packed out - Brandon is blasting out all of the LEDs through a shipment center. He’s extremely active on the Facebook group, so that would probably be a good place to post a question.

He does mention quite a bit about a backlog of emails - and how much he tries to keep up (considering it’s not a full time gig). He has to prep a lot of data by hand between all of his lists, so it’s definitely a tangle of work for one person. I’d give him the benefit over the doubt. Maybe he thought he answered the question to the best of his ability at the time.

Brandon tends to post an update or two a week on Facebook, and most of what he puts out there goes for all of us. Is there something special that your friend needs to know other than the order was transferred and that the LEDs ship after the controllers? Maybe I can help share my knowledge?

Jack, I sent him an email immediately after your previous post and I finally got his shipping address.

Thank you Anthony for the update! Is it too late to join the Facebook group?

Hi Brandon, I've talked to my friend today. He told me that he has not received any new email from you ever since (even Spambox).
I am trying to working out the best way for him to reach you and it seems that emailing is not a best method currently.
Would it be that you have the wrong person or even wrong email address? This is his email address: trung.le@envato.com

He told me that he just wants to know the update on his order and when he can expect the shipping for his order.

I'm tired to trying to be the middle man in the communication. But is it possible that you can provide other mean to get in touch with you?
Please PM me your Skype nickname or Facebook Messenger nickname or even phone number so that I can tell my friend to contact you directly.

Apologize in advance for any inconvenience i may caused you but I just really want get this out of my plate and to help my friend get his order soon.
