  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

Hey Just curious what's goin on. Seems like it s been a while since you've recieved the controller... Is it working? Is there bad/good news? Is there an amazing video of this thing working that we can see? . It would be great to know that it's actually coming.

I've made quite a few posts in the Facebook group that's I'll merge into one update for everyone here.

The controllers passed all the tests and I sent the final list of the last few tweaks to the manufacturer. All these tweaks are pretty simple. I will have news back in a day or two once the lead engineer is back from holiday (Chinese New Year is 2 weeks). I should know then about scheduling and all that.

I'll post a big update later tonight or tomorrow.

The controller is nice and cool! It's working great at a full 40A load.

The color temp is spot on and the CRI 98 rating is the best I've ever seen for daylight LEDs. And I'm not looking at just CRI, but also Extended CRI as well as specific skin tone color reproduction. It's beautiful.

I plan on making videos/blog posts explaining how we put together this rig and many others, so once you guys start receiving your lights and controllers you'll have some resources to look to for advice.

The latest on the controllers:

• There are no heat or stability problems at all now. I left this big MAX LOAD 4 x 4 rig on for hours and everything stayed nice and cool.

• There are only a few minor things that need fixing and none will take long. It's stuff like simplifying/finalizing the printing, having the color knob go from WW to CW (it's backwards now), use knobs with little divots so you can see where you are with an adjustment, fix the WiFi SSID, etc. It's all easy stuff.

• I have sent my notes back to the development team and will have a response from them in a day or two once they get back from their holidays (New Year is 2 weeks there). They are also getting back to me about scheduling.

• The target shipping date is still late March or early April.

If you want yours lights and kits shipped now, want in for round 2, want some extra lights or controllers, or just want to say, "hi"... PM/Email me.

Oh, and surprises are coming...

R9, R13, and R15 are most important because they are for skin tones. I don't know the R12 offhand.

CRI 98 (R1-R8), xCRI 96.3 (R1-R15), R9 98.7 (Red), R13 99.7 (light skin), R15 96.8 (medium skin).

So bottom line Brandon, when can we expect the lights with controllers to start shipping?
I know you've offered to ship the lights to anyone right now but without the controller I rather wait. Thanks!
