  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

Voting for it to be right, as well.

Stephen

My vote is to get full orders out as soon as possible. I'd like to wrap this up asap and avoid going past a full year at all costs. Brandon has done a great job milking these for all the new features. I think it's time to call them good and ship them out. Let's get'em roll'n.
I agree.

It's not that it's going to take a few more weeks and get a better unit, it's that these few weeks will turn into months (which happens commonly, I'm not saying it's this GB but I've seen it happen so frequently).
My speculation is that 1 more week (optimistically will mean 2-3 months).

The "last bit right" will take a long time, but if I'm wrong, then I will gratefully and HAPPILY accept it but in my mind, it won't go that way.

Which is total speculation and definitely will not be the case. I appreciate that you want these quickly Note, but this isn't helping.

It is total speculation and I'm hoping I'm wrong, and I do apologize if it seems like I'm attacking you which I'm not intending it to. It's just from my past experience with a lot of projects with the last bit of iteration.
Heck there was one project a friend of mine did and everything was on track until he thought that the design could be and should be much better.
I told him that should be version 2. He told the backers (after several long months that it was a change and they raised a ruckus).

Ultimately he shipped it 1 year after (after much bigger problems).
But this event has been much better organized so I do appreciate and am grateful for what you've done though.

And you've been through a lot and I understand where you're coming from. I won't add any further comments until after the upcoming update.

I think we have to trust Brandon on this. He has shepherded this along so far. He deserves our respect and patience.

Get it done right.
Changing that component (whatever it is) for a better one might also make the units more resistant, which will be a benefit for everyone too, even when not pushing them to the limits.

I have ordered maybe a dozen of these, so I want to have them in my hands as much as anyone, but I don't think taking shortcuts now is a good idea. I'd rather wait a bit longer and have things done right.

Thanks again Brandon.

Thanks guys. I don't have any concrete news yet other than the engineers said they have made a lot of progress and will have an answer soon. I'm hoping to have an update tomorrow when I wake up. I'll post here as soon as I have news.

Hi Brandon,

We seem to have had a few false starts on our shipping. I believe my recent email should have cleared up all of our shipping and phone number information.

We'd appreciate a realistic update on when we can expect our shipment of strips. Let me know if there's anything more I can do to speed the process.

All the best,

Judd

Your shipment was submitted late last week, Judd. I'm catching up on shipping invoices today/tomorrow. I just sent yours.

Hi Brandon,

Thanks for the update. I've now paid the shipping invoice.

Super pumped to check out the lights soon. I'll running tests using our epic at various frame rates as soon as they arrive.

Cheers,

Judd

Since this looks to be ongoing... Is there a chance I can still buy in?
Thanks!

I recieved my variable strips:biggrin5: thanks Brandon. They look really good. I am going to do a color test with macbeth chart compared to daylight kinos and tungsten.
Any chance that I can still get connector kits? My plan was to solder everything, but solderless looks like the way to go. I am making a bunch of small strips so i will need a lot of connectors (72)
Thanks again
MMM

If there are any available I would like to get in on buying some too. I only need fixed (4) 3200K and (1) 6000K.

Hello Brandon

May i ask why my name does not appear on the first page of this Group Buy ? I am trying to find people to take over my order but since my name does not appear there it is not credible. Also i have directed to you at least 3 people willing to purchase some of my stuff, but never got back from them or from you .....

Paid with PayPal to Hybrid Vigor films on 10th January 2015 the amount of 1831 dollars and a supplement for the controllers and connector of 566.44 dollars on 21 February 2015.

Best regards

Because, as I recall, you got in after the group buy was over. Anytime there has been a transfer of an order to another party, I've verified things by email or PM for both parties. Anyways, I added your name to the list to avoid confusion. Once I get all the data dumped in a database, I'll post the final list. Oh, and I don't see messages from you that you found people that want to buy some of your lights. Please email me about this.
