  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

I needed a portable china ball the other day and quickly made this:

1 part Lantern Lock rig, 1 part plastic water bottle, and a little tape. Worked fantastic!

Brilliant.

What would you say is the wattage with this setup?

If anyone needs to back out or wants less, I'd definitely jump on a couple of these! Awesome.

Just curious also about the wireless feature of the controller. Will you be able to integrate it with the luminaire system?

Oh by the way for you guys looking for a mount for your kino style led projects I found one a long while ago. I'm pretty sure modern studio equipment still makes them. I made these a while ago for a diva style light. Going to take the reflectors out and replace them with the leds

I agree completely, Michael. I'm really anxious to get everything out to you guys. The controllers are 95% ready. We are very close. This is still the latest:

A quick update on the status of things:

I am splitting up the last of the unpaid invoices right now and contacting the people that are interested in the lights.

We are waiting on the molds to be finished for the final prototype. There were a couple fixes that needed to be made before I would approve them. The delay additional delay is now because I also insisted they use normal switches instead of dip switches. This requires a new PCB layout and case mold to be made, but it's worth the delay because using tiny dip switches to change settings got old quick when dealing with the prototype. The PCB is done. The mold is almost done.

As soon as the controllers ship I am flying back to the US to rush everything out to you guys. There won't be delays like this when we do the second batch.

Brandon -

I've paid in full for the lights and accessories and the updated controllers. Did you receive my updated shipping address?

Also, can you send a courtesy email with a tracking number once shipped?

Thanks!

Yeah, everything is shipped with a tracking number. Just replied to your email. Sorry for the delay. I've been in a location scouting Soviet era ghost towns. Catching up.

One question:

would this strip & controller work with Li-Po 3S battery? I'm wondering because 3S voltage is nominated at 11.1V -> drops from 12,4 to 10.8. So is this enough to run? I'm aware that low voltage cutoff circuit is necessary.

Brandon, did you receive my email about the splitting of orders that weren't paid? I wanted to grab one more.
Please check for it and let me know. Thanks!

Just going over year end stuff and would like to know what is going on with this purchase?

After spending $765 Canadian, I would like to know what the status of this Group Buy before I leave for Vegas.

I should have an update soon about the controller. As soon as they are ready I'm flying to the US to rush everything out to you guys. The delay is from me telling them to use normal switches like you would find on a LiteGear controller vs. dip switches that, in my opinion, are not production ready. They had to redo the PCB and make new case molds. This added a couple weeks, but it is well worth it.

Hi Brandon,
tried sending you an email about getting the fixed strips soon, as I may need them for a shoot, but I just received a "mail failure" message, so I guess you didn't get it.

Would you be able to send me the 3 fixed (2 D + 1 T) strips I ordered soon ? The variable ones can wait.

Please let me know if that's possible. I'm in France. Sorry to bother you with this.

Thanks,
Nils.
