  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

Very much appreciated Brandon...thank you for all your efforts.

Brandon, if theres enough...put me down for an extra variable strip

Prototype just arrived...

~11,000 lumens, tungsten, and CRI 98. Beautiful light!

Brandon I like the Instagram photo version.

So badass :)

Daylight version?

Is this a complete unit or a way to configure the strips we bought?

There will be a daylight version too. It's a complete unit that screws in a lamp like a normal lightbulb. A glimpse at things to come for the next round...

Hope we can buy an empty 'shell' and retrofit our existing spools? Running out of $$$ ATM (well, £££ actually!), so fingers crossed :)

Looks very promising too, BTW!

Oh, just wait... :)

These are made to run off AC. An "empty shell" is a definite possibility, but I don't have an ETA on that.

Hi Brandon -

I am paid in full on everything ordered, including the upgraded controllers. I know I was near the top of your list... any idea on when they will ship?

Waiting on an ETA from the manufacturer for the next prototype. It's close. Still waiting on a few people to pay too. After I wrap my shoot this week I'm everything not paid will be made available and we will lock it down. I'm neck deep in prep right now.

Count me in. Looks like you have great timing here for me. :)

You're going to love this light...

Hi Brandon,

Just curious.... will these have electronics in them? Presumably, if fed directly from AC wall power, these would flicker badly, so assuming so.

Yeah, LED lights are DC. There's a built in AC power supply. The prototype is to judge the quality of the light. Next will be the custom guts... That said, it is flicker free right now at up to 30fps at least. Shot a quick video when I first plugged it in.

Thanks Brandon. Sounds really promising.

I haven't tried, but I doubt it. You will be able to dim them when they are all done though. These are a couple months away.

Awesome! When you say that it screws into a lamp like a normal lightbulb, would that be Medium E26/E27 or Mogul?
