  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

You rock Brandon.
Aloha

I lost power/internet/cell service for a day due to the cold weather that's hitting the east coast. I saw a few power lines go down in flames. The power is back on now, so it's time to get back to work. Oh, and I just tested out a variable strip with the controller. Works great! This controller is going to rock!

I'm planning to use these ribbons to build a series of lights on plastic flute board or twinwall. Does anyone have any idea of a mounting system I could add to the back of the board that would allow for pan/tilt on a stand, but still allow me to break down the mount to pack flat or tape the board directly to the ceiling. A Kino style ball mount would be ideal, if Kino sold the female brackets separately so I could attach one of those to the back of the flute board and then just attach the ballmount when I pull the light out of the box.

These are going out tomorrow...

Can i control two different strip with only one controller ? (simply by unclipping it and put it to the other strip connection?)

You can control 4 fixed color temp strips and 2 variable color temp strips. The only thing is, any adjustments you make to brightness and color temp affect every strip that is connected to the controller.

Sweet ! Tell me how to pay for the updated controller :)

Tomorrow I'll start processing upgrades again. Sorry for the delay!

IF you use USPS online or sometimes another service it's cheaper than going to the PO. (You could be fully aware of this and I apologize for that. Surprisingly a lot of people don't know even people who ship). :D

Did some more tests...

This is a variable strip. The left side is the CRI of the "cool" side of the strip and the right side is the CRI of the "warm" side. Very pleased!

I also did some quick and dirty wireless tests both connecting directly to the controller and adding it to my existing wireless network. It works great!

I'm trying to get early shipments to a couple more people that emailed asking about them, but I'm flying out soon. I'll do my best.

That's exactly what I did... :)

Brandon, I am waiting patiently for the full system with new controller. I am not in a hurry but I wanted to say how impressed I am with your work on this GB.

If you ever get out to California, look me up. I will take you on a tour and tasting of the Napa Valley Wine Country. My Wife is a gourmet chef and I have a small winery on the property. You will be well treated and guest accommodations are on me. We have access to a couple of places I have built for my StepDad that are very quiet and the newest place is called the Writer's Retreat on the creek. A small little apartment with a deck that is out over the creek. Very cozy and yours for a weekend on my dime.

Best,

Alan
