Group Buy: Budget CRI 95 LED Strip Lights

Hey Brandon, what's the ETA on the mats? New power supplies? Also still waiting on the original GB vari strips...

Hey Karl, the packaging for the mats is being made now. I'll have an ETA once that's all done. I'll post in the Facebook group about that soon as well as various accessory options. Your remaining 2 rolls that you didn't upgrade are ready to go out. I thought you wanted them shipped with the mats, but I see in our email history you never said that. Sorry about that. I'll send you an email now.

Regarding the other guys above, their orders were all received/upgraded weeks ago, I just didn't reply here.

I do have a few extra rolls of strips and some controllers. PM me if interested.

Brandon,

Could you please also post here with info on mats and updated power supplies? I'm not on Facebook and am not going to join just for this. This is after all where the group buy was started.

Thanks.

I'll be set up to email out updates to everyone with mats/power units by early next week. It won't only be on Facebook.

So I'm thinking a 177WH vmount battery (12000mAh 14.8 volts) into a solaris will power one full strip adequately? Any suggestions on what gauge wire to use?

Is it possible to run 2 batteries to the solaris and power 2 strips at the same time?

Has anyone found a good 24v power supply to use with solaris yet?

Sorry for the ignorance, thanks for the answers. I would love to hear more about how other people are using their lights.

Malik, your two rolls of lights and two connectors were sent to you on October 5th, 2015. I emailed you earlier this year asking you to confirm your shipping address for your controller. I will send you another email now.

Hi,

Can you please give an update on my order? I also sent a message on KORA LED.

Thanks

Maz

I emailed you months ago (more than once), never heard back. I replied to the email you just sent 10 minutes after you sent it. PM me if you didn't get it.

Hi Brandon. the above response was dated 8/14/2018. That's more than a month ago now. Did you forget to update us folks on RU?

I am as well waiting for reply from last two emails sent to KORALED.
No update as to power unit and matt upgrades.
Last correspondence from you stated that you were sending strips not involved in upgrade ...... nada.

No reply , a couple of grand outlay and a lot of time has passed, please advise.

Production is ready to start on the mats and power units. All the pieces are in place, no more delays. I'll be sending out order specific emails this week to everyone who pre-ordered/upgraded individually. I will have target ship dates on Monday or Tuesday.

Mike, the email system I talked about before ended up being more complicated than I hoped. It will be done in a day or two and that's when the order specific emails regarding the mats and power units will be going out to everyone.

Jeff, I sent you an email. The delay seems to be because shipping wasn't paid. Email me back and I will get it sorted out.

Hello to all the members of the community, and especially this group buy. I have to address a serious issue I’m having with Brandon. As much as I didn’t want to litigate this issue in a public forum, I’ve been trying for a month-and-a-half now to have any real, substantive dialogue with him, but he has declined to respond to all attempts to reach him. This lack of communication began about a month and a half ago after I requested a refund for purchases made during the original group buy that has still not been delivered.

- I approached Brandon at the end of August seeking a refund in full, due to the fact that the items have never been delivered, and my needs for LED light strips have long-since passed.

- He stated that everything was boxed up and ready to go, but he was waiting on a reply from me about the number of controllers I had received. (this was incorrect on his part, as I had replied to him 2 months prior)

- When I wouldn’t accept his excuse, he informed me that group buy purchases were non-refundable. This is despite never articulating this policy (to the best of my knowledge) during the group buy, or the fact that he has granted dozens of refunds to people who have requested them over the years.

- I have pressed him to articulate this policy, and to show me where this policy exists, but he has declined to show any documentation of this policy.

- After holding my ground and insisting on a refund, he cut off communication.

- A week and a half later, on Sept. 11th, he replied “I will get back to you later this week” regarding the status of an update.

- This is the last communication I have had with him. I have reached out to him on 4 separate occasions since then, through Messenger, Email, and the Kora website. I have received no reply from any of my inquiries.

- During this time, on several occasions he has updated the Facebook group and this thread, even offering pre-orders on new products, so he is obviously active online, and just purposefully avoiding communication with me.

So unfortunately, I’m stuck, seeing if I can get any movement on this issue by posting in REDuser.

Thank you.

Ok, you want drama, Nate. Waiting for you to get back to me on Facebook.

?

No, I would like a refund on product that after 4 years has STILL not been delivered.

Sorry, but I fail to see where the attitude is coming from. I have patiently waited for an update. You ignored those requests. When I stated that addressing it publicly was an option - and not my preferred option - you ignored that email also.

So you ignored my repeated attempts at correspondence for a month and a half, yet could respond on Messenger within 60 seconds of me posting here?

As for responding to you on Facebook, I will have to insist that we speak publicly on this forum. Dialogue which happens through this forum I have noticed is much more timely, courteous, and friendly.

So to reiterate, at this time I am seeking a full refund of $1,508.92, and would like a status update on that refund . I will also reiterate my commitment to working with you and any other interested 3rd parties that may want to take over/buyout my order.

Thank you.

Nate, your Group Buy order was already sent to you. I paid for your shipping costs. The tracking number is in your account. You were also refunded for your recent new order on Friday. You should have received automated emails about all of this. There are no refunds for the Group Buy. There are over 1500 orders and over $200,000 in all with me on the hook personally to fulfill everything and no profit margins to absorb any losses. The shipping costs alone have been over $20,000. On top of that, I took multiple loans to finish the controllers, which I'm still paying back.

This whole thing was me, personally, trying to hook up our community here with a great deal on lights. It was never a business. I had no profit motive. I had no idea it would blow up and take on a life of its own. It's been massive money-losing ordeal for me, and I'm only now turning it into a business. The website was set up about a year ago to help manage all this. The company was set up six weeks ago.

I'm available by email anytime, but do understand I tend to get buried in email lately and I'm just one person. I've also been dealing with some health issues the last couple months, which have slowed down my response time.

This goes contrary to all that I know of Brandon. I have contacted him with many issues during this group buy over the last year or so, and he has always been so accommodating to every request...EVERY request. Even going so far as to helping me plan other DIY lighting setups involving these lights. he has selflessly spent hours upon hours helping me out, without ever asking for an extra dime. Any miscommunications were promptly resolved and figured out without any issue. Oddly enough right before I saw this post, I happened to have a voltage regulation issue that he again helped me with.

All this, and I was not a friend prior to our communications and his help. I hope I can help him out some day as he has helped me these issues.

If you are having issues with Brandon, if its communication or timeliness and what not, I would maybe check your own communications and make sure you are communicating coherently, and hopefully respectfully.

Hello Solomon. Yes, unfortunately, we each seem to be seeing different sides of Brandon. Like you, in the past when I have discussed upgrades (sending more money to Brandon), he has been utmost courteous and quick to reply.

However, as soon as I have asked him for delivery updates or now, the refund, he has either become verbally abusive, or outright ignored my attempts to reach him. Sadly, this left me with little recourse but to post things here.

In his replies (and you will notice multiple times on REDuser) he continually references his current financial situation, and the financial difficulties this group buy has called him. In my opinion, this is the only reason for the aggressive replies. Whether he realizes it, I've been in quite a similar situation; I've been dirt poor, living out of a car, and begging for favors. Add to that, a situation like with this group buy where hundreds of people are clamoring for updates, info, etc, and it makes life incredibly stressful, emotional, and draining. Like I've said - I've been there. I've had situations where I'm just barely keeping my head above water, and then unexpected expenses come up like a car breaks down, and I'm right back to struggling.

But in that situation, is the mechanic a bad guy for wanting to get paid? No. Is it his fault I'm struggling? No. He's not a bad guy, and he's not a villain. We're both working-class guys trying to get by. It's the same situation here, so I'm hard-pressed to see why I'm being treated with such derision by Brandon over this issue.

I've offered to work with him to find buyers for my orders. I've been patient in waiting for replies. I simply don't think it's too much to ask that Brandon respond promptly, with some civility, and to not distort the truth.
